Are you referring to Serenade Banshee? To answer your question, the only time your guardian will pick death skill instead of their Skill +4 is when the Skill +4 cannot 1 Hit KO the enemy guardian. But if you're referring to Serenade Banshee, you must teach her Skill +4 before she learns Death +4 at lvl 50 or else, she'll NEVER EVER use the Skill +4.

Nuada should still be in demand too, so trading away the Nuada won't be that difficult. But that's technically speaking la, practically once upon a time I have 3 Nuadas for trade (Powerful, Fast & Brave). Had a slight difficulty in trading the Brave & Powerful one. I can't remember what I trade for the Powerful one but I remember trading the brave one for 75 stat stones iii.

The new offer of power sphinx & Nuada isn't as good as the previous two. Nuada best type is really personal preference between fast, powerful & chaotic.
