im sure many people want to watch replay but always got error/ slow internet speed

so this is guide on how to download replay manually

1) download wireshark, then install it - http://www.wireshark.org/download.html

2) open wireshark, click "capture" at top menu, then select interface. just select all interface you had if you dont know which 1 to choose, then click "start"


3) in filter textbox, put this string


4) open dota2, go to watch>open any match you want to watch, then click match detail. see that download replay button? dont click it


5) alt-tab to wireshark back, click the HEAD packet, click small + sign at Hypertext Transfer protocol section, see link at the bottom, right click that link, select copy, select value


6) open your browser or download manager, then paste


7) after finish download, open that downloaded file with winrar, extract file inside it into

8) rename the downloaded file from xxxxxxxx_yyyyyyyyy.dem to xxxxxxxxxx.dem

9) that replay can be watch already

Thanks for sharing. Always wanted to re-live the outplaying moments from my replays but unable to do so for the past month after dotabuff made downloading replays unavailable for us anymore.

I'm going to try this after my work.

hmmm..when i use it to download the latest TI3 east qualifier matches, the download doesnt run..its stuck at 0% for very long..same as when i download replay from dota2 itself..

Never tried downloading replay but, I just wanna download and watch normally without doing the stuff above, do i just click download replay and then I'll be able to watch it?

Will the replay be stored in a folder in my computer (HDD / SSD) or in steam cloud? Thanks!

if just download via dota2 game, you can watch it, it will save the replay in steam/steamapps/common/dota 2 beta/ dota/replay. here
you can replay it back anytime

So. I just replay it using dotA 2? like old Warcraft 3 ? Open from the icon in the folder or need to open dotA 2 first

need open dota2 1st, then go to specific game you download, click that game, then view replay.

cannot double click replay file in that folder, it will launch game but will forever connecting to dota2 network

this work for smeevil view count?? or maybe multiple view count for 1 match?

each replay =1 view count. before this still can delete tournament_watch file, but now the bug is fixed. need to view 1 by 1

Actually you can see the download URL in the console debug log if you have console turned on you don't even need Wireshark.
