yup. CS say only can apply after 3 months.
already cancel a card so that I will be having only 1 card for now
*
By right you don't need to cut down any card because as per BNM's requirements, 36k per annum can have unlimited no. of cards.
I got my OCBC Ti even though I had 2 cards that time.
After I got my OCBC Ti, I only cut down my CIMB card that didn't benefit me.

couldn't remember all the shops ... happened that my sister wanna try the ice-cream after shopping so i thought it should fall under dining since it's, well, sells ice-cream which is not electrical appliance  biggrin.gif  ...

when you mentioned rather use maybank 2 amex - you're referring to this card giving away 5% cash rebate? or because of 5x points?

cheers ...
*
Both - 5xTP and 5% rebate (if weekends).
5xTP is better than 1% rebate. I think I saw the calculation before. laugh.gif

thanx fruitie ... so, in this case, ocbc is giving out only 1% while maybank gives away 5%? i thought due to the same mcc code, all banks should treat it the same way? or because maybank's special week-end plan where you can enjoy 5% cashback even though you're making down payment for a car or a house, as long as the transaction is made on weekend?

if that's true, then i've to seriously consider getting this maybank 2 amex as 1st card to use during weekend while ocbc as backup up, though i really hate the maybank logo ...  hmm.gif
*
Maybank doesn't bother any MCC code, so long the transactions happen in weekends, you will get 5% rebate. brows.gif

OCBC is good to used during weekdays with guaranteed 5% rebate. biggrin.gif

KFC KL Sentral used to have but the terminal was always down. These days the terminal is removed permanently, only cash is accepted.

Hi fruitie,
Where exactly is the TnG Hub? Is it with the LRT counter or a separate counter?
i.e. Can I top up at the counter without exit the KL Sentral station, and continue my LRT journey after top up?
Thanks.
*
As explained by David. Every LRT station has TnG reload counter and you can do that without exiting but it only accepts cash.

the 36k annual income is before or after epf/socso/etc deduction ?

36k annual income is gross salary, so before any deduction.
But OCBC has the tendency to reject your first attempt even you have fulfilled the requirements.

I got it at my 1st attempt, I gues OCBC reject applicants who have a lot of other commitments, even though he or she fulfilled the requirements by a lot.
*
Not necessary.
I have no commitments when I applied mine, only 2 credit cards that time with no outstanding. smile.gif
Anyway, I got mine after I sounded my dissatisfaction as they can't answer the rejection reason.

Clean record is another reason for rejection. Sometimes no credit history is not a good thing as well.

how do you let them your dissatisfaction?
*
I called the customer service in one of the fine evenings after my work.
I got to know my application was rejected and I just told him that I'm not happy at all because I don't see any reason why should my application got rejected when I fulfilled what they required.

I was fortunate the CS was a nice person, it was on Friday's evening that I made the call and on the following Monday my card got approved and Tuesday already sent out my card.

I don't know if these days still can get such nice CS or this method still works. This happened more than a year ago.

If you got 2 credit cards that time, it is not clean record already. They can see your record from the database. Anyway, this card give me higher credit limit than some of my platinum. Really funny about this.
*
Clean as in no outstanding la. doh.gif doh.gif So got CC means no clean record? doh.gif
ronnie Gen-X will have super dirty record then. doh.gif sweat.gif
I can have 10 cards also none of their business so long I fulfill what BNM wants, >RM 36k pa has no limit on the credit card quantity.

If no credit history will be rejected as well, many cases here shows those without CC before also got rejected.
Nobody really knows the selection criteria for OCBC.

Ya, my OCBC gives the highest credit limit among all.

No. I mean as in you have credit history. Not as in full of debt. Well, at least what I can observed from friends who were rejected X amount of times, their record is clean, but they owe the banks too much.
*
OK, I rest my case. smile.gif
Just to clear the air here, I didn't owe any banks' money. smile.gif

In nutshell, I got my OCBC Ti as well and I have used more than a year, a happy customer. smile.gif
Wanna add more cards now as I travel to overseas for work quite often these days.
ronnie's cash back cards summary gives me a lot of insights. biggrin.gif I'm applying AEON Watami and probably HLB Wise too based on his summary and feedback. biggrin.gif

But many here reported as well, you may be new to this thread. biggrin.gif
A lot of cases got reported and even TS has attached the appeal letter on first post. So now you know how many of us got rejected? smile.gif

I never really know of credit card application getting rejected if fulfilled the requirement, in fact, I have never heard of it until this year when a friend of mine telling me that. Then, maybe I was the lucky one who get it approved in 1 shot.
*
Yes, OCBC Ti is one of the hardest cards to get these days as nobody really knows their selection criteria.

Got my statement, somehow ticket payment to TGV via PayPal is 5% cash back.

Will try again next time in the future to further validate this. For now, I have calculated my rebate and it shows this transaction falls into the 5% cash rebate category.

I have two credit cards registered under my PayPal account, priority is AmEx but if it is a MYR transaction, PayPal will auto choose my secondary card which is OCBC Ti since AmEx cannot transact in MYR for PayPal transactions.

Good point.... but  sweat.gif  sweat.gif we won't know why. Maybe TGV MCC is screwed / OCBC MCC is screwed

I was using PayPal to pay, do you know if they still check out the specific transactions occur from PayPal then categorize them into 1% or 5% cash back?
Or they just take PayPal as one general transaction? So, it doesn't matter what the users pay with their PayPal? The cash back is already fixed? hmm.gif

I hope I don't confuse anyone here. sweat.gif

Maybe others can try also when try to buy tickets via TGV online. laugh.gif
But use PayPal. tongue.gif
