Just got my Ti. OCBC gave me RM4k. Anybody with a CL lower than me? Haha. Sigh. Quick questions. Do we need to inform them if we go overseas to be able to use the card? And then can we change the billing address and statement date via a phone call?  Thanks in advance

i just called up today and got confirmed from the staff that, if you dont inform them prior your departure, your swipe may not get approved as the sc will call you to get confirmation from you on the transaction swiped.

I would say as long as bank approved my application although only little of CL.

CL can request to be increase from time to time.

I have requested to changed the statement date by phone

Would suggest you to set for SMS alert as well.

That's very low. laugh.gif None of my cards gives that low, even when I just graduated CIMB gave me much more than that. laugh.gif
Anyway, you can always try to request for increase later.

Thanks for reminding me. I have to go to overseas for a job assignment next month, and I will be back in 3 months time... Will definitely give a call to all my banks to inform them. nod.gif

4k is ok la considering that this card main benefit is the 5% rebate and no points.

just utilize your 5% and spend on other cards.

I recalled you said China right? Have fun over there. Do not forget us here while you're having fun over there. laugh.gif
My approval comes after my appeal, so maybe that is why, appeal case. I do recall them asking me if it is ok if they give me a lower CL than my other cards. I said ok as long as they approve. But didnt expect it to be that low though

Yup, planning to do just that. Actually 4K is more than enough la, since most of my expenses go to the M2 Amex. That one has good CL. I need the Ti for weekdays, when I maxed the 5% for the Amex and also as a backup MC, in the unlikely event that both my M2 Amex and Visa fail. smile.gif

Yes, going to China. Have fun? Not sure if I will. laugh.gif
Yeah, a few cases updated here where OCBC may consider if you can accept low CL. This is only happening during appeal session. Anyway, finally you got this card! Good for you. biggrin.gif

Does that help?
I didn't know that. hmm.gif
Thanks for enlightening. I thought it is up to the individual bank unless you have any late payment or not a good paymaster in other bank. hmm.gif

Actually that is one of the reasons why I got rejected in the first place. The agent did not actually make the exact confirmation cooz they cannot reveal it. but she did say that maybe OCBC is kinda spooked by the generosity of MBB and CIMB in regards to the CL that they gave me. Maybe they have some internal method of calculations of income vs CL and see the risk factor that arises from it.

Earlier OCBC gave me the highest CL but with the recent request to Maybank, it is now more than OCBC. However, I must agree that OCBC is generous in term of credit limit. biggrin.gif

I know, and I'm already prepared with cultural shock. I only went back to kampung in China and the longest was around two weeks. sweat.gif
Now 3 months, really God bless me.
Besides, I will need to settle my banking issue there (i.e. withdrawing RMB in China using Malaysia account). Credit cards issue is pretty OK though may not be accepted everywhere, I believe they prefer cash. Luckily just need to call banks to inform them about my trip... sweat.gif

True, no need high CL with OCBC TMC since we get nothing once we hit the RM50 cap.

I asked OCBC to reduce my CL to about 1/4 of was first assigned to me and now it has the lowest CL of all my credit cards.

You are one of the very few people who has said OCBC generous with CL. And now your MBB CL higher, I guess MBB generous too tongue.gif

Bro, good thing you got discipline in controlling your spending tongue.gif

It is good BNM came out with strict guidelines for credit cards so that banks are not so generous in giving high CL as before (maybe except for Citibank, keep wanting to increase my wife's CL). Previously, one can easily be made a bankrupt with credit cards unsecured credit provided by banks, example my case.

Except for CIMB when I wanted their WMC and Visa Infinite, I have never submitted any documents to proof my income for any of my credit cards. My first two cards in Malaysia where "transferred" from my US AMEX charged card and Citibank credit card which I had when I was an undergraduate (click here to see some of them).. As of Jan 2012, I had credit cards from 10 different banks (click here to see them) and my total combined CL = 10 years salary (when I was a salaryman). Now my CL is like equal to infinity of my last monthly salary haha.

Since then I have cancelled my SCB VI, HLB (Ex EON) VS and reduced my HLB CL to 1/5 (since I hardly use the card) to what it was; and, now my combined CL less than 7 figures. But if I add my unemployed wife's 4 principal cards CL too (total combine 6 figures) to mine, it's 7 figures again.

And the card I use most (in terms of monetary value) is my MBB VI and nowadays they won't even entertain my request for increase in CL because I got no pay slip cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif And it is a miracle MBB granted me their VI, like I said, they don't have my income records.

Yeah because of the higher CL that it gives to me compared to other banks. tongue.gif

Yo,

I am officially an Titanium user. tongue.gif
Processing faster as expected. Apply on Sat in Leisure Mall, that sales guy told me he will submit on Monday, Monday they called me on verification (Although called me few times, but I told them you called me for verification.. ==), Wednesday received parcel from Poslaju.
Just activated the card, and talked to the service desk, explain a lot information to me (found it quite good), and I asked him if I not able to swipes more than 10k annually, whether able to waive the RM50 GST.
He said can't promise on this, but if your annual spending more than 5k, shouldnt be a problem. smile.gif
Oh ya, the card is much more beautiful as shown in the webpage, blink blink. Haha
