Pardon my ignorance, but when you guys pay bills online using OCBC CC, do you actually pay through OCBC internet banking or through other channels like M2U?

QUOTE(MGM @ Aug 13 2013, 07:07 PM) Every month pumping petrol 5x + shop/buy vouchers at AEON 5x is achiveable. Just would like to classify something here, AIA insurance can pay by Amex card???By using Wise and MBB2Amex which overlap many of the OCBC categories that enjoys 5% rebates, I would get more rebates. Probably only left with Municipal Bills/IWK/SAJ for OCBConline(on second thought might keep this CC for these transactions). Will use MBB2Amex for AIA, TNB, Telekom, Groceries. Wise for Petrol, DeptStores, Maxis and DiGI. Still searching for a CC for online purchases like Airlines/Hotels/Groupon (CIMB CB?) Was rejected by RHB Signature eventhough met their criteria (suspect it is becos of BT reflected in CCRIS). Already cancel the Telekom autodebit thru Telekom 100. |

Because I notice that we can actually pay bills through M2U using non-Maybank CC, but don't know if there is any bank charges for that. Don't wish to open so many bank accounts. Anyway, thanksTNB - OCBC online TM (Streamyx) - OCBC online DiGi - OCBC online IWK - OCBC online |

Anyway, thanks My Maybank is the only active bank account. I have OCBC Ti and pay most of utilities bills using its portal, then pay the credit card bill via GIRO from Maybank. Only RM 0.10 to OCBC. |

QUOTE(MGM @ Aug 13 2013, 05:35 PM) Need some advice: You must keep OCBC Ti for 1% CB for other transactions not accepted by Amex and not in chosen category in your WISE card.My OCBC titanium (latest statement date 11Aug) is up for renewal this 24Aug but my Retail spend only touch rm8300, still short of rm1700 for the 'Annual Usage Bonus' of RM50. According to the CS if I cancel the card before 24Aug(b4 GST rm50 is charged) my rebate for the month will be burned. So she suggested that I stop using the card after 24Aug(got a problem here as my Telekom autodebit is on 25Aug) and wait for the next statement on 11Sep. By then the GST will be charged and I still get the 'MONTHLY cash rebate of RM50 instead of being burned'. After I got this statement I then call the CS to request for 'Annual Usage Bonus' eventhough my Annual Retail Spend is short. I can then decide whether to keep the card or not. If I cancel the card I can also ask for the GST to be nullify. My other problem is the Telekom autodebit. My telekom bill will be dated on 16Aug. Can I pay the bill using OCBConline today(13/8) an estimated higher amount so that the autodebit would not be triggered on 25Aug? How long it takes to cancel the autodebit facility? Add: Called Telekom at 100 and manage to cancel autodebit effectively tomorrow. |

I am now considering AEON Watami card for this category of transactions which gives 3%, eg AIA, Car Maintenance, Hospital, Popular Bookshop. |

Wise (10%), OCBC Ti (5% and 1%) and Watami (3%) give great CB. And now, I max out the CB on OCBC Ti and Watami every month. Am relying on MB2Kard Master for miscellaneous expenses and getting miserable 0.4% equivalent point reward. Any other good CB cc for miscellaneous expenses (that not accepting Amex) ? Was eyeing at HLB Essential card with unlimited 1% CB. But the CB gain barely cover the AF and GST. Need a higher CB cc. |

WATAMI would be a better choice. But since you have concern about 10k spending commitment in OCBC, WATAMI requires min3k per q too. |

As most OCBC 5% rebate categories overlap with HLB-Wise and MBB2Amex (except for Assessment/IWK/SAJ) without which will make it very hard to achieve 10k spending/year. Those other 1% CB transaction if switch to Watami would give 3% CB. |

THis OCBC pay bills RM2000 get Rebate RM30 = rebate 1.5%,
BUt if your bills can be paid with MBB Amex, then no point using OCBC. Amex 5x TP is like 1.8% CB right? Telekom, TNB bills using MBB AMex still gets 5x TP, so no point using that OCBC right? |
