Just received my card today. I must say OCBC is very generous with their CL. My first OCBC Ti application (via online) was rejected (suspected due to >3CCs) and been told to reapply after 3 months. But I tried my luck to reapply via agent (roadshows) just after 2 weeks and it was accepted.
Sadly, the agent got my name wrong on the card. May I know if I request for a new card, will I get charged for this? Havent activate the card as I've called the agent and she said to help check and get back to me by tue/wed. |

QUOTE(w19 @ Jun 17 2013, 03:04 AM) Most probably, it went to MCC Code of "Phone Sales". Similar to my case with Bill Payment at Maxis The GardensDo call OCBC to enquire the MCC code. Not receommended to pay at Maxis Center using OCBC Titanium as they have alot of CC terminals (which is not under OCBC Telco MCC 4814) This post has been edited by ronnie: Jun 17 2013, 09:16 AM |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jun 16 2013, 10:52 AM) FYI, My last month spend was RM999.96 and I received full RM50 rebate (5%) for that month. Basically OCBc uses round-up mechanism to our advantage. ya, I have just did calcalation on the cash back, the 5% cash back for amount that I spend was RM399.97, after calcalation for 5%, cash back amount should be RM19.99, but I received RM20.They are processed it to be round up figure. |

When you do it online, your documents are given thru mail / fax, and the sales agent will do a chop saying that its not original sighted, meaning that it MAY or MAY NOT be original ( changing numbers on payslip ). However they still need to do a CCRIS check, to see how many cards you have ( only 2 if pay less then 3K ), bad debts, AKPK, and lastly to see whether you HAVE a CCRIS record. In OCBC in order for you to have the application approve, goes to three steps. 1) Their requirement on your JOB. High Risk, High Pay ( High salary = anxiety to spend more, hence may lead to bad debts ), Government Servant ( Hard to get approved from an Overseas Chinese Bank ). 2) If you pass that, then comes to CCRIS, to check records. 3) CL part, I have a customer who is an OCBC Credit Card user with a PLATINUM CARD with CITI and Maybank with annual income of 100K, can get a Plat Card from OCBC for 5K. Basically if you can get all this, you will be great. :-) |

Hi, everyone.
I'm thinking of getting CC from OCBC seeing how good it seems from the reviews that I've been reading. Three questions, hope you can enlighten me: 1) If one is a Premier customer with the bank, is it better/easier to get a CC from them? If yes, will they waive any charges/fees that normally would incur through normal application? 2) Is there any promotions that one will miss out by getting it as part of Premier customer instead of applying through normal application? 3) Anything else that I should take note of? Thanks! |
