I would say, go for myvi, since your budget is 50k. and myvi's fc is better than saga.

Myvi is an almost 2 star ASEAN NCAP car, Saga FLX+ almost got 4. Easy choice then.

The 1 star rating is for the single airbag kosong FLX standard.

The FLX+ which scored higher than Myvi has 2 airbags + ABS, which is equivalent to the FLX executive variant or higher.

Now in my wife kampong and drive the saga BLM (M) and found out the FC really bad.
Fully city drove 136km and drop in 3 bars already sad.gif

If Myvi really can clock's 400km per tank is peanut.

saga BLM and flx with iafm+ are two different animals all together. So are the performance and FC.

To TS, you should be looking at FLX 1.3L (dual airbags, ABS variant).
Mirage and Alto are 3 cylinders engine, certainly it isn't as smooth as those 4 cylinders engine. Make sure you know the characteristics of it before purchasing.
Safety > FC, everything. If the car not safe enough to protect you, let alone talking about save a bit more on FC and better resale value. You will not even stand a chance to claim it if you involve in a serious accident.

i funny this comparison a bit funny, 1/4 is a sedan and the rest is a compact car
question of the day, what are you gonna use it as? point a to b? or just going for the miles...
on my opinion, i'd go for the saga on my opinion, you get a proper trunk, you receive decent FC and it seats comfortably when full of occupants...
plus you have today's tech, CVT and a decent engine power for long distances and carrying heavy loads
added plus, any mechanic can repair your car, plus the parts are pretty cheap compared to perutdua

The mirage and i10 are obviously A segment cars.
The Australian ANCAP site seems to group the mirage along with other larger cars, such as honda insight together.
Both mirage and insight gets 5 star ratings. very good!

Mirage imported from Thailand.

Thailand government got tax incentive for car with low CO2 emission + mileage of 20km/l and above.

Thailand also got produce 1.0l JDM version of Mirage as well, IIRC.

1. RootOfJesse gave the result based on ASEAN NCAP, not the ANCAP.

2. for this test ASEAN NCAP, they used cars which are sold in Malaysia.

3. Kadajawi said that those A-segment cars (Myvi, i10) were tested according to B-segment criteria.

4. DO NOT SIMPLY ASSUME that cars that passes ANCAP with flying colors should have the same result with ASEAN NCAP.
why?
Different specifications will have different results.

pls. observe the specs mirage sold in malaysia:
http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.my/mirage...d-equipment.php

with the tested ANCAP specs:
http://www.ancap.com.au/pdf/510.PDF

u'll notice safety features superiority of ANCAP tested model compared to malaysia.

Thank you thank you thank you very much. all the suggestion n opinion i m truly appreciated. I heard alot 'story' abt Saga, so i think i might erase it from my list(but the price of saga is so attractive >.<). Since thr is number of ppl suggest me go for Mitsubishi Mirage, actually i like the design n it is 'imported' car, hehe but i heard tat spare parts/ components for Mitsubishi cars r very expensive and not really easy/convenient to get it too. Pls correct me, if i m wrong. And how abt Suzuki Alto, any Alto owner here, mind to share abt it? Thx ^^

How old are the stories? The Saga has been on the market for a long time, horror stories from when the car was just launched need not apply these days. Personally I'd get the Saga for space and big car feel (compared to the others on the list). Mirage, Alto, i10 etc. are just A segment cars, competing with the Viva.

yup...the mirage in ANCAP archive 5 star is becuz of 6 airbags and ESC
for 50-60k in malaysia, there are no "safe" car at all
u'll need to spend at least RM100k here to get those 5 star car
the cheapest 5 star car is proton preve...see suit u or not only
but the mirage being a somewhat JDM car...the quality is pretty good....FC is by far the best among all the car TS listed
handling wise, better than myvi...only bodyroll is noticable

65 to 70k, Ford Fiesta.

The Saga FLX+ is also not too bad considering the price.

A car needs ESP for a 5 star rating. Side airbags make no difference for the tests that ASEAN NCAP is doing so far. Otherwise there is no way the City could have received 5 stars.

for bolded part above..
i suggest you should also consider a SERVICE CENTRE near to your place...
for me it's quiet inconvineant to travel far away just to do a routine maintenance service espeacially if you buying a new car...

Seriously some people have mentioned about bad FC of Saga FLX (I know BLM fc sux), but how bad is bad actually?

12cent/km for highway, 17cent/km for town?
Perhaps some FLX cvt drivers can share with the TS.

Saga is rubbish car for low mentality people. Only ppl who cannot afford Myvi will buy a Saga. They drive their rubbish car everyday looking upon other Myvis on the road with envy.

Myvi - JDM hot hatch with crumple zone all the way into A-pillar, safety yo flex.gif
i10 - 2-stars ASEAN NCAP Korean hothatch
Mirage - Jap hothatch, with MIVEC!!
Saga - kereta sampah se-bintang.

They are hatchbacks. Not hot hatches. Especially not the Myvi.

The Myvi also almost got 2 stars. The Proton almost got 4. Just missed it.
