Hi guys,

Need some advise from anyone here...

I own a honda insight which comes equipped with the standard bridgestone ER370 185/55R16 tyre ... all of them are still pretty new around a year of usage however recently i ran through a stone and it damaged one of my front tyre.. it looks like its blotched with some cracks ... still drivable but i worry it might burst..

I am planning to change it... so asking if its possible to change only 1 tyre? or have to change both, and can i change only ONE tyre to other brands like GoodYear ? or must i stick to the same model ? please help...

u can change one tyre of a different type if you really want to and if you drive slow it wun really matter than much. but i suggest you change both and this would be the advice of most people i guess. different tyres react differently to road conditions.

best bet is to change both, or atleast that one into the same model. u drive an insight, surely u can afford one more tyre right.

Since you said the other tires are still pretty new, then it's ok just to replace one new tire but have to be the same as the rest. I assume your spare tire is different though like many Hondas. But if the same then just use the spare tire, and put the damaged one as spare.

Thanks guys for so much advice!

My spare is a smaller version ... so it can't be used to permanently replace the damaged tyre.

At the same time i've went around bridgestones tyre shops and asked, they don't carry the standard E370 tyre because they are OEM tyres which comes with my insight (imported).

so i think my best bet now is to look for exactly 185/55/R16 x 2 tyres of different brand and i am still thinking of which brand to take, that measurements is hard to come by..

most proper way is to have all 4 tires wear out evenly, and 1 shot change all 4 smile.gif
