Hello,

It's been awhile since I had my PC and I'd like to join the water-cooling world. As some of you might know, I am the future owner of murderbox mk ii:195, but due to unforeseen delays, the earliest I'll be receiving my murderbox would be roughly 6 months from now. Thus this worklog of my currently outdated Fractal Design XL.

So, let's get on with the specs. (please don't judge my GPU, I'm poor!)

ASUS Z9PE-D8
Intel E5-2680 (x2)
32GB Corsair Vengeance Memory (4GBx8)
Gainward GTX 660 (x2)
Corsair Force 3 120GB
Seasonic 1000W Platinum PSU

At the moment, this is how my PC looks like.

I've yet to receive my water-cooling goodies, but here are some of the things to expect.

Bitspower CPU Summit EF (Intel) ICE Black (obviously it's x2)
Watercool HEATKILLER® GPU-X³ Core GTX 660 (and again, x2)
PrimoChill CTR™ Compression Tube Reservoir System - 240mm
PrimoChill ZenCoils™ Tube Reservoir Calming Coils - Black
Performance-PCs Über 655 Fully Modded (D5) 12 VDC Water Pump - Matte Black
XSPC AX480

And now time for some poison. Courtesy of pristine

Current plans:

1. Invert the motherboard layout, much like the Bitfenix Outlaw and murderbox mk ii.
2. Remove the chamber design.
3. Remove all 5.25" bays.
4. Wash chassis and drip dry.
5. Figure out how to mount 480mm radiator at the front.
5. Drink Coke, close thread and wait for my murderbox mk ii to arrive.

Will bring the drill out and start dismantling the case first thing tomorrow morning.

so dope. definitely following this.

bro, leave a gap or two between the photos so it doesn't look like one massive one. lol.

and don't let your chassis drip dry. it'll react. I left my HAF922 to "air dry" and it had rust spots. had to wash again and scrub. use a hair dryer to dry the case after the wash. thumbup.gif

Alright. So the motherboard tray has been removed and turned into a slide out tray. No pictures at the moment because I'm too lazy to reassemble my rig outside the chassis.

Oh, I've decided to replace all rivets with screws. I guess murderbox is really taking it's toll on me. tongue.gif Anyone knows what size screws should I use?

you'll probably need M3 screws. I think supernothing has M3 screws that might fit your case.

m3 screws is for rivets and you have to buy some nuts with it too. And m4 screws is for fan. Very simple and looking forward to the end. smile.gif

Thanks for the information bro. If I get all the parts in time and nothing goes wrong, I should be done by the weekend.

make a new box from alloy or acrylic sheet, remove the psu oem housing..make a bypass for modullar cable through holes on the new box u made so the modular socket on the psu stick out from it...the non-modullar cable btw u make other holes at the side of the box and lay the cable behind the mobo tray... thumbup.gif...and 1 thing...hope the warranty for psu is finish by now... whistling.gif

Thanks for the idea bro, but I don't think it's possible. I have a little more than 4 years 6 months left on that PSU and have already claimed RMA once. Not gonna risk it. cry.gif It's a fully-modular PSU by the way. tongue.gif

Maybe I should get someone to custom make me a bracket. Anyone to recommend to me? brows.gif
