Does anybody know what is the average cost for the following near uni of melbourne ? Please calculate for the whole year - 52 weeks.

1. One room apartment

2. Food (self cooking - just simple food, no expensive stuff)

3. Transport

Is it cheaper to share house or rent one room apartment ? What about homestay, is it cheaper and are the australian family nice ?

transport is quite costly with the metcard, not too sure about the current rates but you should check the met website.

one room apartment im not too sure, but i can tell you a 2 room apartment costs ~AUD$1k a month (my friend was living @ lt. bourke st.). i would suggest you share with someone. and advisable to stay near uni so you save on transportation, walk to uni. with a homestay i guess you won't get as much freedom. or maybe you can consider the dorms if unimelb has any

food, can honestly tell you supermarket there and here around the same price, just different currency.

A 2 room apartment can stay a max of 2 people ? So that is around AUD 500 per month (not week) ?

Sometimes, it is not easy to find apartment mate.

Homestay if cheaper don't really care about freedom, cause I just sleep and study there.

Dorms are more expensive than outside, that's what i heard, can anybody confirm ?

So if the food is the same price, then I should be spending 200 per month ?
