you have 2 backups right?
restore the first one, then restore the 2nd one..
for the 2nd one, when they ask if you wanna check for duplicates. just tick yes.. so you wont have repeated sms'es
if u have the 2 files u can restore both.




IF you meant you only have the backup that was from jan 2012, then you wont be able to get back anything after that if you did not make any recent backups..

all you get is what's in the file only.

Yes my situation is the second one ......
So really if ONE backup done there is no way.....
Maybe another app or some program to recover deleted data?
I have external SIM card reader but could not detect SMS only SIM SMS.....

you can try with some recovery app. but highly unlikely.. most of the recovery apps only recovers media files/others..

yeap yeap. same mistake when i first got my s2.. didnt know they auto delete.
now i have over 10000 sms'es.

2. screen freezes (semi transparent, able to see the homescreen for awhile)

I have ONE more question for u....
I always use KIES to upgrade firmware like eg. 2.3.5 to 2.3.6...(stock)
Nothing is lost perfect no need backup or restore at all everything is there even notes, sms, contacts, apps, settings.....
Now the question is if i use KIES to upgrade my stock from 2.3.6 to 4.0.3 (ICS)....,
Will NOTHING be lost including settings, calender, notes, and all of them in phone memory including Apps?......

No. The issue u mention only happen when u lock and immediately want to unlock. I think the lockscreen haven't finish loading.
Very rare happen. Not a big deal for me.

Lockscreen freeze bug already solved with official jb, meaning its official kernel. Jeebo kernel also dun have lockscreen freeze issue.

Lockscreen freeze means after press Powe to unlock at lockscreen the touscreen become not responsive for 5 seconds.
