Im looking for a cheap RAM to overclock high, since my current RAM are unable to run at any divider above 250HTT exept 1:1. Looking for 1GB module (preferably single stick) Budget is around RM600

Anyone knows what RAM runs great with DFI mobo?

MM, the Promos should overclock decently well. I had them @ 272fsb (CPU Limitation) last time @ 3-4-4-8. They do well at 2.6v-2.8v. They don respond well to high voltages

Yes I know my RAM pretty well, but my RAM did respond well with voltage increase.Tops out at 275MHz but not very stable. I just need new RAM which allows me to use diffrent divider other than 1:1 because my CPU is capable of 2.5GHz (357HTT).

ur aiming for 1GB single stick rite? Probably, u could opt for the Corsair Value 1GB with UCCC as i supposed ur looking for high fsb with slack timings. Currently i'm testing the 2x1GBInfineon ECC CE5, Pretty good result. 258fsb@ 3-3-3-8 1T@2.65v

Try to look for Infineon BE-5 or Samsung UCCC. They're available on value RAMs such as Apacer and Kingston.

If I could recall.... some Apacer value use BrainPower pcb which is even better.

Yo, kucing ... The ECC rams you're using, do they perform as good as non-ECC rams? Someone told me that ECC rams are a bit slower unsure.gif

Well, they gave about the same score in Sandra's mem. So i believed ECC doesn't affect the speed. Anyhow, yeah ECC will work in 'most' motherboards.

well, i believed he's looking for 1:1 speed.

Anyways, i assumed the Apacer/Kingston UCCC is hard to find. Most of them are on Kingston Chips or D43. The best bet would be Corsair Value.

Okay, cool rclxms.gif I might look for some ECC enabled rams, the error correction feature sure would come in handy in my folding rig rclxm9.gif

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think even though ECC ram is plugged in, the feature would be 'disabled' as there's no ECC support unlike those chipset designed for server.

LOL, i meant 1GB stick of UCCC. btw, mmm..any chance the apacer u had were previously mine? laugh.gif

1GB modules of UCCC would do you good upto 280Mhz with very relaxed timings of 3-4-4-8.

if want really cheap, i've migrated over from the 512mb of hyper-x to 1gb of kvr using mosel vitalic chips. running divider @ 333mhz for 400mhz ram

current settings are at:

divider - 166mhz
fsb - 278
multiplier - 9
ldt/fsb - 3x
agp - 67mhz

edit: memory timings @ 3-4-4-8
