hi everyone, i hv updated my S3 to 4.1.2 via Kies sometime ago and only now I noticed that I cannot connect to new wifi points. but existing ones worked fine.

tried googling and it seems that there are a number of users that faces this problem as well..
and the solution is to replace the /etc/wifi & it requires root access.
the question is, is there another way to solve this without rooting it?
