hmmm.. quick question...

Anyone flashed wanamlite 5.8? I didn't try the previous 2-3 builds but the supposed Legendk95 multiview for all apps doesn't seem to work?

tried googling and xda search but all that came up was that it doesn't work with Jkay? I thought that's the one with criscan's mod right? That one doesn't work with the non paid deluxe settings app right?

the legendk95 one should work with everyone right?

anyone got it to work without having the jkay deluxe settings app?

tried installing again

I realised when I just installed wanamlite 5.8 without anything... the multiview with all apps work.

However after I flash JB Domination with Black BG and others, the multiview mod seems to not work anymore...

Posted this in the JB Domination thread as well

I'm on XXEMR2 Wanamlite Rom 5.8 and Perseus kernel

I realised if i just flashed the Rom and kernel, multi window is possible for ALL APPS.

However, after flashing

1. JB Dom 1.6
2. MR2.zip by RootSU
3. Black BG mod
4. Black background mod

multiwindow is only for the default apps... the other apps can't be split screened.

To tell you the truth, the SIII was honestly not the best of the bunch last year. Of course it was darn good, but many of the competitors were really good last year.

Unlike the SII which completely balled the other competitors the previous year.

I hope the S IV's rumour of OCTA core will be true. I saw in some rumour mills, there'll be 8 cores for CPU and GPU as well. THat'll be really the first. Maybe instead of 2 GB of ram, make it 4. hehehehe

Then it'll really bomb the other competitors. 4 GB RAM maybe long shot la... but the octa core sounds very plausible

S3 not the best bunch last year..? rclxub.gif
It's the most selling phones of the year (2012 till now)

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bes...g_mobile_phones

Look at the 2012 from the link above and you'll find that S3 selling more than 80 millions compared to second place (fruit5) selling at 50 millions.

Well, you're arguing that it's the best SELLING phone which I have to agree. That's just statistically putting it.

Which if you asked me, due to it riding high on the FANTASTIC performance of the SII, many (including myself) went on to buy the SIII automatically thinking it'll completely screw up all other phones that will come out last year.

What I mean is in the performance of the phone and I feel now that after buying the S III, I think quite a number of phones out there are quite competitive to it (not necessarily ALL beating it).... and I'm just comparing it to the other androids. Not the iPhone.

Well, just what I feel

Persues kernel anyone using?stock rom use persues kernel got problem?
*
Been using it for about a month already

Used to be religiously on Siyah only. was on Siyah 1.8.9 for a while

Indeed Siyah has more tweaks... but the reason why I jumped to persues was for that extra bit of RAM.

Seems to be smooth now... but in no way was Siyah laggy or anything

Update about the JB Dom issue not supporting multi window:

THere are 2 versions of the JB Dom 1.6. 1 with Jkay and 1 without.

Just flash the one without Jkay and all is well

QUOTE(leechers @ Feb 21 2013, 12:42 AM)
kidding? no i am serious.

i was so eager to tried out both android and ios at the same time, to have first hand experience of both. so i bought this two flagship phone. actually my primary choice for android was nexus 4, but that was quite a lengthy story to be told.

the truth is i am declining to sell of my iphone 5 and keep my s3. but i found out that i spend more time on s3 than iphone 5, even when i already jailbreak it.

but, in my field of work, "show off" is somehow important, and thats the advantage of iphone 5, in which none of any android phone can challenge it, so far.

i can keep both of them, money is not a problem, but i just dont know what to do when one phone is just idle and collecting dust. the best option is to sell off one of them.

i need genuine opinion, on which to keep and which to sell.
*
Interesting... your job requires you to 'show off'? hehehehe... that's kinda cool

Well, in that case, it's really about perspective eh? I'm sure you're not particularly into S III but you like the android experience right? So, you're actually looking for an android phone vs an iPhone 5. So, if you think that the S III in itself doesn't really give it much cosmetic oomph for your career, then you can do a few things to give it that superficial look to wowz the crowd around you

1. Get a radical casing that wraps the android phone. particularly the SIII, you can look for otterbox defender or some other radical casing that changes the whole look of the phone till some don't recognize how it looks like. An otterbox user myself, my S III (which kononnya to you doesn't have much of a wow factor) is always being ogled at and asked by friends to see "What phone is this?"

2. Can always get another android phone that has a better chassis right? You sound like you can afford anything at anytime... so just go for an HTC One or another Android phone that looks aesthetically approving to you. I've seen some phones like the Sony Xperia Z that honestly looks way classier.

p/s: If you want something that really appeals to the crowd, I see MORE AND MORE people lunging the huge Galaxy Note IIs around. Apparently HUGE phones are the hit now. I think iPhone is.... well playing catch up these days

I'm using Directory Bind on a 64GB card without any issues. It's not about size. It's about the format of the card

I posted this in the JB Dom thread as well, just thought I'd post it here as well to see if others have this

Not too big a problem... but also an issue i reckon

I'm currently on Wanam 5.9 (soon to be 6.1)

1. flashed wanam 5,9
2. flashed JB DOM 1.6 (No JKAY)
3. flashed MR2.zip
4. flashed Black BG mod
5. flashed Black Background mod

and that appears.

However, in the volume settings if you go to system settings, it appears normal.

Only when you're pressing the volume buttons and the volume sliders open, the names for each of those volume sliders are wrong.

can i assume u ditch perseus because siyah was smoother?

I forgot the reason I ditch perseus already. Haha!

I was also on perseus for a short while and reverted back to siyah.

That extra ram given was meaningless. Siyah has more tweaks and seems smoother

Hmmm... although the S IV does have quite good upgrades in the hardware department (insides that is), it still is pentile eh? the screen with full HD does look tempting but that screen is now a dime a dozen with HTC and LG offering the same resolution and probably better non-pentile LCD displays.

I love the octa and the additional 2 GB RAM

I LOVE all the software inclusions though. It really does seem like a lot of extra TW features make the phone VERY well rounded and does enhance the UX a lot.

It would seem though that it wouldn't be a problem to port it to our S IIIs right? with all the custom roms around. If the software features can be ported to the S III, then I don't think I'll be jumping ship anytime soon...

.... though that's what I said with the SII until I held the SIII in my hand.

Per my conjecture yesterday:
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=58970448

I suppose those phones that have "design" as one of the key selling points of the device seems to attract irrational atachment. It seems once the word "premium design" or "sexy design" is part of the marketing, you probably start having irrational fanboyism.

I recall LG liked to market the heck out of every teensy weensy insignificant feature about 5+ years ago ... pink phone for ladies with all the floral stuff, the twistable camera so you can take shots of yourself and they used a pair of tango dancers for that ad....

Samsung has never been much about design but functionality.

I am not defending Samsung but saying that some here value functionality over aesthetics, while others are the opposite. I am also offering my 2 cents about why some threads attract more fanboyism than others. I may be wrong and welcome correction.

And ultimately, you have the constraint of your 4.x" or 5.x" or 6.x" slab of glass as the centerpiece. Even women's powder boxes (the ones with multiple colored powders and a rectangular mirror) are all THE SAME SHAPE, they only tend to differ on the logo on top and color of the cover. The base is usually gold or silver PLASTIC. whistling.gif

As i said, they will do just fine with S4 but they got to listen to others too if they dont want to end up like apple. As i said earlier on my post, Samsung is still way ahead in terms of their technology and software building. And S2 was doing great because of its design and functionality.  icon_rolleyes.gif

I agree that functionality is important. However, it's quite unacceptable for me to pay PREMIUM PRICE for a supposed PREMIUM phone and having to compromise on ANYTHING at all. Cause if it's a cheaper and not a flagship phone, we'd normally say "I guess I'm OK with some of the things missing or not really top notch quality since it's a cheaper phone (or not their top of the line product)"

I just don't feel we should be given anything lesser when we pay top dollar for anything. Not just samsung but all other brands. We pay 2k+ for the phone. I expect the best out of everything the market has available for me right now.

well, that's my 2 cents.
