If as you said you read it, you will 100% find it,  unless you are blind or cannot read.

Warranty are supposed to be register by the phone dealer. But after few days if your phone still not registered, you can do it your self by following below method.

How to check warranty
Send PC " YOUR IMEI" to 62002 (for maxis and digi) or 33802 (for celcom)

IMEI:  dial *#06# on your phone

How to register eWarranty yourself (without help from dealer) - credits to lostasylum

with the following details:

and a scanned copy of the receipt. apparently samsung will revert within 3 weeks

1) Photostat your receipt & warranty card (with dealer chop) on a piece of paper.

and the IMEI Number:

Since you're in Japan..you cannot check the warranty via sms.
Ask you family/friend send an sms to local telco for checking warranty.
PC <imei number>and send to 62002 if use Digi or Maxis

after long time stick to wanam rom, lately finally move to omega rom.
personally i feel omega is lot more better in term of battery life and also features rich.

Have anyone experienced the S3 screen just cracked out of nowhere? (no fall , didnt sit on it)

It was fine when i went out and take pictures at the beach. Once i came home, placed the phone on the room table and went for a shower. Came back and my phone had 2 hairline fracture.

The problem is my family is not very tech savvy, but I will try to instruct them how to search for the IMEI number I guess. I was worried about needing to use the S3 itself to send the sms but I suppose if use any other phone it's ok?

The gist of the matter is, let me quote your question here, 'ad verbatim'..... 'But I forgot how to check whether my phone is registered'. So, we were just pointing you to the direction where you can get the answer. Not only were you not grateful but you have showed your arrogance by making such terse remarks.

Hey guys, I managed to get my phone back to Malaysia (i'm in Japan). My S3 totally dead few months ago. I believe it was motherboard dead.

The thing is, I forgot how to check my online warranty. Can anyone help? Do I just get someone to bring my phone to a service centre and they will be able to handle from there? Or do I need receipt and all that other rubbish?

i come from s2,maybe gonna port to s3 in a month

hmm..so i want to know got any app that can transfer all data to my will be s3?

Yes..any other phone can..as long they are using DiGi or Maxis.
