Cortana probably gone rampant.

There are 7 Halo installations. 1 destroyed. The installation on Earth could be the Ark mentioned at the end of Halo 2.

It's good to see people being interested in Halo's storyline No one is bigger halotard than me though So here we go:

"I have defied Gods and Demons
I am your sheild, I am your sword
I know you, your past, your future
This is the way the world ends"

Before I start to explain my thoughts about Cortana's words, let's go back to the end of Halo 2. The very end. After the credits, we see Cortana talking to Gravemind. Here's a part of what they say:

Gravemind: "I will ask and you will answer"
Cortana: "Alright, shoot"

Now why would Cortana, a human AI, want to co-operate with a flood lifeform (assuming Gravemind is a flood, he certainly seems like one). The answer is quite simple: Gravemind has control over her. How is that possible? Well think of this. When the Chief gets captured by Gravemind, who then teleports the Chief into High Charity (Covenant City). How is it that a flood lifeform would have control over Halo's teleportation system? Simple, Gravemind must be a more advanced form of flood, or maybe a cross between flood, and some other more intelligent lifeform that is able to do such things. So he probably is also able to take over Cortana. Let's assume he is for now.

Back to Halo 3. I believe the reason Cortana's going rampent is because she's being controlled by Gravemind. Here's what I think about her words:

"I have defied Gods and Demons" - Gravemind may be talking about how he has defied the Forerunners, the ones who created the 7 Halos and how he has defied Reclaimers. Remember in Halo 1, 343 Guilty Spark calls the Chief "Reclaimer" and in Halo 2, the Covenant call him "The Demon"

"I am your sheild, I am your sword" - Cortana is with the Chief in most battles. She helps him in battle. She also protects him. She acts as his "shield" and "sword"

"I know you, your past, your future" - If you've read the books you'd know that the Chief is part of a military project called the Spartan II Project. Here Cortana is talking about how she has knowledge about the Chief's past because she is able to access the military records, and possibly she knows his future too? What could it be? Death maybe?

"This is the way the world ends" - This is probably hinting how in the end the Halos will be activated and will eliminate all lifeforms and end the world. Or it also maybe talking about how the war between Human and Covenant will end

That's my views of Cortana's words of mystery Now about the giant structure:

- It's either "The Ark", an installation which can be used to activate all the Halos remotely
- Or it's another "Library" which contains the 'index' to activate the Ark, which is somewhere else on Earth maybe?

We'll see in 2007

I forgot to mention that in the possibly real, possible fake "Halo 3 Script" that was floating around the net, Cortana betrays the Master Chief

Trust me, Halo 3 will have more action than both previous games combined. It's the final fight for humanity. Rumours also say we're gonna fight the Forerunners.

One thing for sure, I suspect we'll finally be able to fight on Earth more, instead of just 2 levels.

Also to note. Cortana tends to have a certain rebellious streak that she shares with the creator (forgot her name). And if I remember correctly, she's also very protective of the Chief.

if they include online co-op i hope they put in a "friendly fire" option... as it is your 1337 no scope skills and my 1337 grenade skills have a nasty habit of killing our team mates...

Yeah. I didn't really like the 2 Earth levels in Halo 2. Sure they were fun, but I wanted more

If I'm not mistaken, Cortana's creator is Dr. Halsey? And yes she is protective and acts as a "shield" I just wonder if Cortana will betray the Chief like in the fake/real script

Glad to see someone read the books Also note that in Halo: First Strike Dr. Halsey went off to the depths of space with Kelly to do something we don't know. I think she's gone to get a batch of Spartans which she hid somewhere. But who knows?

Mobius : I also read the so called "leaked" script , the writer got dumped by his gf made him wrote how Cortana betrayed Master Chief . I am not all geeky over the Halo universe , perhaps I will look for the novel to check them out .

I made a typo , sorry . Alien Invasion theme mostly my favourite , somemore I still prefer human use bullets and still using ordinary vehicles as transportations .

It's mention that the Halo series is a trilogy.

It's a good thing they decided to end here , longer sequels don't mean better . If they can't have enough , there's always a fan fiction novel out there , like SW .
