To update, you need to make sure you're connected to the internet first... just open your System Settings, select 'Internet Settings' and explore there.

System update is under 'Other Settings' - on the last page.

Friend codes can be made in the 'Friend List' menu. In this menu you can also add other 3DS Users as friends - but make sure you give them YOUR friend code as well so that you will both appear online to each other. (if not, your request will be shown as pending forever).

Street Pass can be activated by turning on the wireless switch (the one for Internet and stuff). When you're out and about, put your 2DS in Sleep Mode with the wireless switch turned on and it will pick up data from other 3DS that you 'passed' by that also have their StreetPass option turned on. Using StreetPass allows you to exchange game data - like in SMTIV, you can get monster cards from other 3DS owners who play the game

You can try reading the 3DS FAQ on the 1st page of the thread for more info, I'm pretty sure most of it is still applicable to the 2DS...

my region when update is set to usa, alaska..
still have few eshop funds inside
and last time i accidently used the fire emblem and shin megami tensei 4 promo 30usd eshop on canada region
can i still able to switch between region to buy thing?
lets say i switch to canada to buy game i wanted then go back to usa later?

As long as you never create a nnid or link nnid to you 3DS you can change to whatever region you want and purchase any game from USA/Canada/Brazil

Hi guys, I am going to buy a 3DS soon. It's gonna be my first nintendo console , because all along I play all the nintendo games using emulator and because of that I can't pretty much enjoy the online service, wifi battle, events , trading and so on. So before I going to buy one I got tons of question to ask for.

I already did some research but it is still confusing, so better that I ask here hope you guys can help me.


1. Where is the best place to get a 3ds in Kl/Cheras Area? Or is there any official nintendo shop nearby?

2.Difference between normal 3DS and 3DS XL, I only know that the XL version is larger, improved D-Pad, and the start ,select button are real. But will it be really too big? Or the original one is too small? (I still prefer the small one)

3. I heard there is a difference in region for the console and the games as well. So does it mean that if I bought a US version console, and I can't play a UK/Asia region games & vice-versa?

4. Which region I should choose? I heard the US is recommended because they got good service in the E-Shop or wad shop.(maybe I forgot the name), and its better? Or should I just stick with Asia region ?

5.Let's say, I bought the asia version and a pokemon X asia region as well. Will I be able to play with the players in other region such as US? LIke adding them as friend and the normal things?

6.What is the current price for 3DS and 3DS XL as well?

7. I heard the console comes with a 2gb memory card. Is it enough to use? Since they are some other software to use also?

8. Battery Question. How long usually it took for you to fully charged the console?

9. Is it better to charge every time while not playing? Or only charge it when the battery is gonna finish?

Also, can I clear all the data inside the 3DS that used by her colleague before? Is there any reset to factory setting?

Umm....I do read all the FAQs before decided to ask here.....but couldn't found info on 3DS LL, only 3DS XL and normal 3DS......Do u mean 3DS LL is refer to 3DS XL?

I saw a reset memory something in the system settings....Is that what is it to reset to factory setting?? I thought that 1 is only format the SD card data??

And if i have purchase a game on nintendo e-shop and it save on the 2GB sd card,
few month later i get myself a 32GB sdcard so how do i transfer from 2gb to 32gb without any problem occur?
