QUOTE(ben3003 @ Feb 9 2013, 01:44 PM) KLSE everything depends on GE timing.. i believe after GE, result out, maybe stocks will be at the rock bottom, time to buy those u think it's fundementally strong. I believe Airasia, maxis, digi all is a good buy. Telco never runs out of business, unless 1 day u don wan to use mobile phone already, which i believe malaysia also collapse liao la haha.. HSI i think now abit too high, tho china banking sector dropping like flies, i bought some ABC shares tho.. just wanted to go for their dividend only. I am more towards dividend based shares for play safe, then put some eggs into those smaller one. If you had done your research, you'll know that HK-listed China stocks are still very cheap. And sure, China banks' share prices dropped a bit recently but 'dropping like flies'? Hardly I bought plenty in 2H12...when HK stocks did drop like flies This post has been edited by Veda: Feb 9 2013, 05:14 PM

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Feb 9 2013, 05:41 PM) ok la i used some extravagant words Yup, China stocks are very cheap, compare banking sector to msia one, like PBE, which is overvalued by 2 times more thanks to ppl goreng. China one maybe 20% overvalue. Plus their market cap is bigger. So bro, why suddenly those HK listed china company share price dropped recently? becos of CNY ppl need money? lolz..I've no idea ... but corrections/dips after a strong run are perfectly normal. I'm fully invested (99% in overseas stocks) and my picks mostly blue chips, all fundamentally strong - so I no longer monitor them every day or week. I see u are a TA guy. IMHO, ABC is not as fundamentally strong as the other Big 4 banks (higher NPL etc) but offers higher growth due to its exposure to rural areas.

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Feb 10 2013, 04:00 PM) oh i see.. cos other big 4 price is abit higher.. but i think i will diversify abit.. maybe go for other big 4. Btw what other sector should i go into for HK market? I heard they say their property or construction is good.. but dunno which one i should be looking at.. You might want to do some research on consumer discretionary stocks and government-linked construction stocks .... then decide on your own whether to buy

QUOTE(yok70 @ Feb 10 2013, 06:48 PM) Which 4 fundamentally strong banks you are in? What do you think of CCBC? I'm not familiar with CCBC ... do u mean CCB? For privacy reasons, I don't want to list out the stocks in my portfolio. But .... ICBC and CCB are both very profitable (ROEs of > 20%), and they are simply "too important to fail" Their current dividend payout ratio is 35% .... market speculation (note: speculation) has it this will increased to 40% and eventually 50% in 2014. I think this is possible

QUOTE(foofoosasa @ Feb 10 2013, 11:09 PM) Any bargain beside banks? probably insurance and some telco H-share? Some consumer discretionary, construction and retail/supermarket stocks may be worth considering
