QUOTE(Boon3 @ Feb 27 2013, 10:28 AM) Yes not many will sell at 49 but there are some who would. Hi Boon,Look, I have been in the market long enough and I have seen many chased after stock dividend and yields and after many years of holding the stock, their returns have been dismal and this was because they dismiss that it is possible that one can lose money from investing in stocks that pay dividends. Of course, these are the exception or the rare cases and that there are many who had gained handsomely from the dividends received. Just to share what my director who have been investing (NOT trading, he never trades unless got insider tips, or so he said) for years does. He invests for dividends, and he has been doing it long enough that his portfolio has already paid for itself thru the dividends received. Any capital gains is a bonus for him. They key from him - HOLDING POWER This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Feb 27 2013, 10:39 AM |

Wanna ask, MAHSING 2012-Q4 financials show that they have term loans and convertible bonds, but why are some analysts still describe it as "Net Cash"?
Can some sifu enlighten this akauntan buruk? http://announcements.bursamalaysia.com/EDM...ng%20Q4FY12.pdf This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Mar 8 2013, 01:39 PM |

dear sifus,
if u are buying a dividend stock for keeps, and it rose almost 10% within a month, do u still keep it, or do u sell it off and buy again later after it drops? No analyst reports available, I'm buying a rather unknown consumer stock. Financials look decent, dividend yield also decent. Pls share with me some knowledge...thx |

Last time I was in the market aiming to be a trader...
Started out getting >50% of my trades right, make small money always. Then when the market goes southbound I dunno what to do, panicked, lost patience and so gave up on trading. Now I'm back in the market but looking to buy quality stocks for keeps. And now it's deja vu, my stocks rallied within less than a month of buying Shall I be disciplined and stick to my initial plan (buy and hold regardless of what is happening so long as fundamentals are intact)? |

QUOTE(yok70 @ Mar 12 2013, 04:34 PM) I just bought 2 stocks, HUPSENG and APM. Still got ammo yet to deploy, aiming for sin stocks but not now, it'd be after GE.HUPSENG already made me about 10% paper gain but APM still rocking and rolling about. Buying for long-term. |
