Very true.
But some of the courses I attended got offer some advice on specific counter.
Few weeks later will shot up.
I don't know if it's a coincidence.

Some even funny.

Special offer for RM 288, normal price RM 2,888.  rclxub.gif
laugh.gif Very special price offer! tongue.gif

Once got sifu, Malaysia 'investors' just likes to follow and buy. tongue.gif

Malaysia actually a good place to find waterfish.
All like to copy and follow. Lack of innovation.
Use Dali as an example.
Many went to his seminar.
Main reason? Get the stock tip. tongue.gif

That's why if you listen to his BFM broadcast the other day, you can hear him stressing on the need to do own research but the main focus somehow was on the 5 stocks mentioned. laugh.gif

Coldeye's seminars.
You think his method/reasoning is more important or the stocks mentioned? tongue.gif

I think main reason people go seminar is to get tips, they're not interested on what method used to get the list of potential stocks.
Oh and not to forget, many people also finding sifu who can provide 100% working tips. Means out of 10, 10 of stocks will go up.  laugh.gif
What I badly want to know is.....

I'm more into his method, Coldeye is 100% Benjamin Graham shadow, i can't see any Fisher element in his investing style
You like B.Graham work, eh?

It's good because it teaches the very basic of investing, however, since you like B.Graham work, I think you should adopt Buffett work more since Buffett is the work of a perfected B.Graham.

For example, Buffett understand clearly why one cannot simply invest based on value.
Some values are just value traps.

Buffett style is slightly different, i'll say his investment style change for this decade, he tend to focus on quality of management, nowadays there is not much of undervalue available for him to invest in.

I can see he start to adopt Fisher investing style more and more, his acquisition do tell the market something in hidden way

Ah Boon, i think i'm more into Fisher style icon_rolleyes.gif
hehe.. tongue.gif

No need scared what style, most important you understand what you do.

Management and owner issue is important when one talks about value.
For example, if owner/management is stingy, what point to talk value?

Very free today leh.

Can someone pls enlighten me on the logic of say, EPF disposing  eg. 50000  shares and acquiring 100,000 shares from the same counter on the very same day? Why do they do that??
EPF have external portfolio managers.

They are from different companies which means you will see times when EPF appears to buy and sell a particular stock at the same time.

Did you follow EPF issue against MISC offer price?

EPF had already issued statements saying offer price was too low but when one check MISC shareholder transactions, EPF was seen selling. laugh.gif laugh.gif

This issue was mentioned in today's papers.

QUOTE
THE Employees Provident Fund (EPF) says external portfolio managers were responsible for selling down its shares in MISC Bhd below the offer price and now is probing why they did so.
.
.

Nik Affendi said via email that the EPF is following up with the fund manager concerned to ascertain the reason the shares were sold. He also said a total of 3.99 million shares were sold between March 12 and March 15.

The offer price by Petronas to buy out MISC has been seen as too low by EPF and MISC's other shareholders.

I am not brave.
I scared scared of puke power.

laugh.gif laugh.gif

Apollo earnings was good.
Stock shot up. biggrin.gif

See issues like this is important.
Listen to the market and not the gut feelings on what the market will or won't do.
Past few days can see that company's making good earnings enjoy solid stock run ups.

thumbup.gif

Iskandar play is not a one time theme play.
The reason for those stock to run is valid.
No matter which part wins the election, buyers, esp those from Spore will buy.
Did you read Maybank's report yesterday.
I found it so interesting how fast the new houses were all sold out.

whistling.gif

So got tip ah?

less investor wanna buy some unfamiliar stock go through the GE, thats why market is so queit now
laugh.gif

Market hot or not I still want tips. tongue.gif

There are many 'unfamiliar' stocks enjoying quite a solid run the past 4 or 5 months.
Look at their charts, you would never have guessed that this is a stock facing the so-called treat from GE.

ps: is it a 100% sure done deal that market will collapse once GS date is announced?

The best time to buy Panamy is always, end of the year. Now is too late.
If buy end of the year and keep for 6 months, easily 10%.
Wah!
Only look at 'time of the year' to buy meh?

Why not incorporate earnings to your buy/sell decision?
Company earn more, buy.
Company earn less... err... sell. tongue.gif

You don't believe higher earning means higher stock prices?
And vice versa?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.  tongue.gif
laugh.gif

You can try use Panamy as an example.
Mark down when Panamy earnings really jump a few years ago.
Was that a buy?
Mark down when Panamy earnings started to fall. ( Yes, Panamy earnings did fall a lot. tongue.gif )
Was that a sell?
