QUOTE(PeeEl @ Feb 17 2013, 02:20 AM) With the utmost of respect, let me be candid. Whilst I understand what you are saying, so long as one accepts the role albeit voluntarily he/she should have a KPI imposed if not by the forum management, by himself/herself. please do not compare forum moderators to other corporate business. it's totally different there are no kpi and such stuff. However, I agree that it is not expected of anyone in that position to be able to police the threads without missing out on a few on-goings. That's why the appointed moderator(s) should be on site regularly enough and diligent enough to do what is necessary when necessary. We the minions may not report but when we point out, it is tantamount the same. With our own personal life and work, moderator have only a few hours a day in the forum. I know cos I was a moderator before but not here. there is no time to look through every single post as there is no such thing as 1 mod per thread. at most there is only 2 to 3 mods per major forum section. there is a reason for the report button so just use it. it's just a click and report whatever you want and let the moderator decide on action on take. this is a community forum so it's VERY IMPORTANT for the user to COOPERATE as well. QUOTE(joytest @ Feb 17 2013, 10:27 AM) It's an app-permissions control framework, operates at the kernel level. Unfortunately you can't just "apk" it. You need some kind of setup on the PC to read your rom binaries, then it generates some apk for that specific rom version. A little bit involved. oh that's taking it to a whole different level. do we really need such high level of protection? This post has been edited by antt00: Feb 17 2013, 10:34 AM |

QUOTE(Sadru @ Feb 17 2013, 07:41 PM) im just assuming from what aspire2oo6 said. Ah ok. I did not notice any slowdown. Android have improve alot going into JB and with note 2 2gb ram it is less of a problem compared to older android devices. Normally any slowdown due too normal operation can be resolved by properly closing apps or restarting the device. If a restart does not resolve it then it's probably caused by some apps, if which you can traced it then will be resolved otherwise a factory reset is the only way.havent seen any major slowdown on my phone yet since its still considered new.. 1 thing i do notice with the note 2 size.. i had hard time wearing jeans.. i just afraid i might break it into half.. seriously i never give a thought about this but now since i already got the phone.. So far never heard of anyone breaking their device in their jeans. Don't think its possible unless u physically sit on it in which case the screen might crack but device breaking in half is like a fiction novel. |

Poison or not it depends on what the new device got to offer over the current one. Example last time I was using S2 and when S3 launch it was like meh no poison at all.
Need something big to poison me. |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Feb 18 2013, 08:21 PM) Huhh..S4 will surely wallop both phone Yeah butterfly will wallop S3 but S4 is just around the corner, HTC really have bad timing. Closer behind will be One M7. Then Note3 will wallops all phone available like past two years..Bwahaha.. Actually Butterfly is to compete with S3 not S4..which the HTC won already. But then...this cycle never end one |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Feb 18 2013, 08:27 PM) Not necessary china phone might wipe samsung off we never know. The spec now can fight most latest spec phone just some tweak and maybe add some budget can troll samsung and sell lower than samsung. Yes i agree china phone is competing well in terms of hardware. Now they just need to somehow improve on after sales service and software and upgrades.1 year ago china phones are crappy today their design and specification dont play play. |

QUOTE(King_Hector @ Feb 19 2013, 07:45 AM) firstly raw material of plastic is petroleum, which comes from bangkai binatang (animal carcass). This is unproven you know. Crude oil comes from marine plants and tiny organism.of course there are many uses of plastics in the modern wall like tupperware, car accessories, etc. so it also depends on what type of plastic used. in the case of samsung, the feeling is flimsy and cheap. The plastic is very subjective depending on user. I like the fact that it is lighter than other material (imagine holding and using your note 2 for long period) and it does not feel cheap to me. |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Feb 19 2013, 08:37 AM) i'm one of those that appreciate the 'cheap' plastic. to me... it's strong enough to withstand drops without ending with dents. it is lightweight enough for me. many use a case with phones anyway... so, whether its plastic or gold... many will end up seeing the case and not the actual phone itself anyway. Yeah the problem is people's perception on plastic is that its cheap because cost wise it really is. even if one wants to give the phone a naked feel... one can still dress it up with carbon fiber 'stickers' from iDefense... or skinz from GadgetSkinz. but seriously... i'm surprised mods are letting all these bashing going around without giving our vacation tickets. if not happy with a phone... then dun buy it la... no need to go to the phone's thread and tell the owners there that you dun like this, you dun like that... adds more noise to this already fast moving thread. so sianz... |

QUOTE(Reventon @ Feb 19 2013, 01:36 PM) Somehow I am curious about safety when using some custom rom from XDA . What I mean is some new user posting out some roms in the development forums. A bit paranoid to try out those. I usually only use rom from recognize dev and above status. Well you can wait for others to try first and feedback. Let them be guinea pig. |

QUOTE(Positron @ Feb 19 2013, 10:08 PM) Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought you could change the counter to zero, zilch.. but Samsung still knows since they have an even secret counter in the Note 2.. Right? On S2 yes, on Note 2 dunno no one mention it before but i suppose its the same. BUT Samsung AFAIK does not check this so called hidden counter. |
