Going to Liverpool is the easy part. Take train from st Pancras (London) to Lime St (Liverpool). Thereby take bus no 26 (forgotten other buses number) directly to Anfield.
Now the hard part is securing tix for matches since most are season tix with a handful available for general sales.

doesnt the season normally kick off late august?
what match are u going to catch in early august?
most likely the team will be overseas playing friendlies.

We have quite a few contacts in Liverpool that may help in getting the tickets. Alternatively, if you know the travel date, you can write to the club in advance to enquire about the tickets. The club DO reserve a certain number of tickets for overseas supporters (not many I heard, around 50 - 100). If you write in, they will be able to help you through the reserved tickets or even general sale.
