The term "shots" and "on target" are used. If players don't shoot for goal, what else are they shooting at? The corner flag? A shot in this sense is quite obviously a shot on goal and not as fan, or the poor cameraman behind the goal.

In any case, I don't think there is confusion over what 25(7) means. Semantics.

suarez did have a shot narrowly miss the corner flag by a foot or so biggrin.gif

thats what he gets for not touching the TIA sign on the way out...

so obviously only a Downing hater would plain disagree even with the LFC ppl...

Downing is my MotM too in this match. He's been very very consistent ever since the "Mayan Downing" incident. tongue.gif

not like the cameras always show all the players going out...
and as a LFC player, and one who says he loves the club, he should already know the significance of it.

For me, downing Lucas and hendo were the outstanding trio that can hold their head high after yesterday's match because they gave everything and had the performance to match.

Well Downing doesn't.

Read somewhere that not all the players do. The only ones that do it religiously are Gerrard, Carra, Pepe, Agger, Johnson and Lucas.

Would not bother much whether he touched TIA sign. As long he scores goal for us and play with all his heart, then should be good enuf. Missed the match yesterday and how was Countinho doing?

Coutinho was not on long enough to make any significant contribution.

I'm my opinion, there were times we played some really slick football to create openings. The good thing is the weren't a result of any one player's skill. It was a team effort most of the time. Downing to me was one of our players who created the most openings for his teammates.

It was a game we were pretty dominant in but we got sucker punched. Ben Foster had a good game in goal and made an exceptional save from Gerrard as he initially went the wrong way, but managed to stick out his hand to deflect the swerving drive, wide. Borini also had a good effort foiled by some excellent handling from Foster. West Brom only managed their first shot late in the game. In the end, we failed because we didnt put our chances away, especially from the spot as Stevie had his low drive parried by Foster, yet again. The fact that the former Man Utd keeper was the MOM, speaks volumes of how dominant we were attacking wise.

The of course, some say it was our "worst performance of the season" so best you watch the replays me judge for yourself.

maybe Rafa should add 'In Malaysia, there are 20 million managers'.

Foster was a wall last nite. I got a feeling that stevie was gonna miss the pen because you can sense that foster was super confident leading to the pen. I can hear even hear him clanking his gloves together no less than 3 times if im not mistaken due to the microphone behind the goal post at anfield being so sensitive. It was fcuking intimidating and he looked big. Stevie's pen was tame as well. A bad night that we must put behind us.

As you can see from the analysis before the penalty was taken, the last 8 penalties taken by Gerrard was hit on the LEFT. And non was low shot, all were either top of corner or middle.... Of the 8, 7 were on target , only one miss.

You can see Gerrard trying his less favourable side and ended up with TAME LOW SHOT. Foster was initially wanted to jump to the left but was quick enough to jump to the right and save the shots. The shot taken was poor. Lack of power and slow.

No way. He played so well. Outpacing defenders and working hard. Our set piece defending again let us down.

I'd blame Reina for the 1st goal. He should come out and ounch the ball instead of caught standing there waiting. 2nd goal got nothing to do with defending. Midfield were non existent. Lucas was not there in the centre, Gerrard nope not there either. A quick counter and boom goal.
