Sorry to interupt u guys.
I believe u guys had setup a very nice LYN F1C League... I would share some experiance online racing with u guys but please ignore it if u don't like it. I'm not in IT field but in Mech Eng (XUTM-AJ90). To run the Dedicated Server, u don't need the high end server, basic desktop PC with 512Mb RAM will do. BUT the most important factor is the bandwidth where the upload speed of the host is the key to reduce lag or lag free. The host will upload 8kbps per client (i'll try to search back this theory but varies with other games). For F1C & rFactor, i believe it's 8kbps. The calculation will be like this (plz correct me if it wrong): 1kbps = 8bits 8kbps = 64bits (1 client) So, for Streamyx SDSL 1.5Mbits = 1500/8 = 187.5kbps Upload speed 187.5kbps divide by 8kbps (per client) = 23.4 (max clients) BUT plz allow only max 18 clients connected to server (to avoid bottleneck). The cost of this line is RM618 per month based on streamyx package and can be hosted in house. To be succesfull in this league, u guys got to share each others.... SHARING IS CARING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! QUOTE(evoHahn @ Aug 6 2006, 12:04 PM) Try the racing server rental...http://www.racingservers.com/ Not sure it has F1C or not but just ask them. It's cheap but don't know where's the server located, if they have mirror in Asia that will be no problem (ping < 300ms). |

Sorry to interrupt again..look's like u guys still ??? with the server.
My advise/opinion: 1. Don't go for Shared Server (limited control) 2. Go for Dedicated Server but plz check what is their upload speed. 3. Try negotiate with them "Trial 1 Month Period" to test the lagging/stability etc... 4. Try to contact NETMYNE, negotiate the cost, having the dedicated server locally is much easier and the ping < 50ms (through our rFactor Dedicated Server experiance). 5. LYN F1C members ~ 13 and we rFactor members ~ 9, we are in the same interest of RACING, if we combine ~ 22...it's going to be almost full grid & racing will be much more fun. Just belanja ONE TIME of paying RM150 for the rFactor, u guys don't have to worry about the server, it's maintain by me & can cater for 24 players online..we can have our own league...
