QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Aug 5 2006, 03:53 PM) It seems that with streamyx we can have max 6 ppl only linkin, if with 512k upload how many people can join? 8?this was the server that RedLine used for rFactor QUOTE(redline) Intel Xeon 2.4 & 512Mb ECC Ram thus this explained last night's phenomenonOS Windows2000 Server 2Mbits SDSL Location di Netmyne Subang Datacentre Kos RM800 sebulan (special rate.. normal RM1200 - RM1500 sebulan) Dgn line 2Mbits boleh tampung 31 orang (2000/8=250kbps/8=31) tapi aku limit 24 orang jer, lebih tu bandwith buat remote desktop masa tahun 2004 dulu, kita orang dah main F1C, dgn line streamyx 1024/384 (maksima 6 orang je...lebih pada tu lag...tapi kadang2 pun lag jugak)...aku rasa F1C punye upload satu orang mesti sama dgn ISI = 8kbps (jadi kalau upload 384Mbits = 384/8 = 48kbps/8 = 6 orang jee!!!) streamyx Enterprise SDSL 1.5M upload is rM618 per month |

and some info of last night race...
I've hosted last night race; the Hungary GP, participated by adrian, raikkonen, young_soul and me. They are all using ferrari and i'm on toyota. Young_soul set the fastest lap on the practice session, followed by raikkonen, adrian and me. there's no qualifying and the grid was setup with practice time. The race itself has to be re-started at least 3 times; because some of us forgotten to set up for the race So with the both of us then become the ITV team giving the race commentaries Then it was young_soul turn to pit, and adrian took the lead. But something is not right with young_soul car after the 1st pit stop, he kept running wide and a few laps later retired with brake failure. so Adrian won the race |

I agree with penzman, no one person can bear the fees alone. We need more drivers to lower down the cost, but if we dont start at one point, we'll never rope in new players. Yes it is more challenging and more exciting if can all race at once.
I say that we should always opt for solution no 1, but in the mean time there's no harm in trying solution no 2. So why not give solution 2 a try? Lets test this Friday; One full hour of Practice and then race. The race should be set to around 40-45% to give enough time for the driver and fuel consumption down to x2. What do you say? Before that i need to know whats your pc spec and your net connection.. pls post as follow Proc speed : RAM : Graphic Card : Net connection : Net upload : Net download : I'll go first : Proc speed : Celeron D 3.06GHz RAM : 256 Graphic Card : none Net connection : streamyx basic 1.O M Net upload : 384 k Net download : 384 k |

QUOTE(Penzman @ Aug 8 2006, 10:22 PM) Does anyone know about Fragnetics? Found them through Google yesterday and they host games. I wrote them yesterday and they replied today. See below. Penzman, i think we need upload speed of 1 Mbits (will support around 15 players) and fees around USD 40 - 50 monthly.================ > Hi, > > We are an online racing league with members in Malaysia, Thailand and > other parts of Asia. These are the Pacific Internet Data Centre at the Science Park, and Qala Data Centre at Jurong East. We have dedicated bandwidth at Qala and shared bandwidth at Pacific Internet, so I'm sure that we can host your game server and offer you a couple of options at different price points. May I ask what's your rough budget for such a server and the technical requirements for hosting such a game? Please feel free to contact me via e-mail, on MSN at chris_choo@hotmail.com or on my mobile phone at +65 94510067 so we can discuss further. Thank you for your interest in our services.
