guys.. im thinking to sell off my kitlens (18-105) and replace it with tamron 17-50 F2.8 instead, since i want a faster lens. but what about the photo quality? will it consider to be a downgrade? since i got my 50mm, i rarely use the kitlens anymore, but sometime go out with friends want to help take pic still need lens that can zoom in and out.

QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 23 2013, 08:55 PM) Tamron 17-50 is pretty decent in terms of optics, but bear in mind focusing is quite... crappy on the tamron. the infamous back/front focus issue? hmm.. seems like their QC not that good..

QUOTE(f5calvin @ Feb 23 2013, 11:38 PM) im using one with VC.. the non vc ones are sharper, the vc ones are less sharp.. bt it's quite good at the price..though sometimes u might face problems like inaccurate focussing at low light.. n oso decentering.. D800 body is 8k plus rite? is equals to D600 + 16-35 f/4 leh..haha..big hole in pocket for d800.. all FF oso big hole.. im will get non-vc if im getting one. hehe. but if it works and deliver picture comparable to my kitlens, then i think i will switch.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Mar 3 2013, 09:33 PM) The D3200 doesn't have an AF motor, so if you are planning on getting a 50mm, the 1.8g (with motor) would be the better pick, unless if you prefer manual focusing If used on a body with an AF motor, the 1.8G should focus slightly faster and quieter than an 1.8D true.. saw a video reviewing those 2 lens. and the G version perform better in lowlight situation. focus also faster in G.

QUOTE(ImBoYbOy @ Mar 5 2013, 07:55 PM) okok, sounds like D90 really outdated.is that true ? then for you which one more good ? D7000 is better than D90 for sure on paper. but if you're good, u can still take good pics from D90 last year D7000 with kitlens is around 3.5k. now with new model around i think the price have drop already. D5200 is entry level, D7000 Is another level up. go to some nikon center and test it yourself. lol.

QUOTE(ImBoYbOy @ Mar 5 2013, 09:14 PM) don't you also buy the body only and the u buy the 2nd hand lens afterward? just worry for the qualify of the 2nd hand lens as we dunno how the owner take care about the lens. i bought together with kitlens. anyhow if u r new altogether with dslr i recommend u to use kitlens first. don't worry.. my kitlens is like new xD

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Mar 5 2013, 11:05 PM) I've seen teetaatee sifu's photos taken with the D90, wouldn't know its a D90 if didn't check Still, if budget permits, its more worth it to get the D7000 right? guess so.. me too was planning to get D90 only.. then i got a chance to hold & shoot with D7000.. after that i don't want D90 ady. hahahha

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Mar 6 2013, 05:19 PM) i was using 18-55 that time, but way way longer ago la, i was told 18-55 non VR kit lens is the best built lulz. anyway, it still up to you, only test your self for 18-55 or 18-105 see which one suitable for you. i forget this 2 kit lens got pro and con or not, like this have extra focal range but MTF chart not nice or bla bla actually my friend told me similiar thing.. he said.. 18-55mm on D7000 is sharper than 18-105mm. lol. is that even possible?
