Alright, here goes the Trails of Scarlet. Requesting gurus and blogmasters to evaluate (other than the language, I'm well aware of it ).

Not thinking about monetizing yet but, just out of curiosity, if I were to implement an ad, where should I place it ? The layout is very minimalistic (that's why I picked it) so any added element would kinda destroy the overall design (IMO).

Opinions? Suggestions?

Constructive criticism please. Horrible as in what, layout? Photos? or? And last one as in which one?

basically all pictures almost fail in exposure, angle, subject, composition and etc, guess u need to read up some books
well, horrible is the only word i can use to describe when i 1st look at the picture (most of the pictures)
the last one is the your last picture (black n white)

I totally get it that I'm a newbie in photography but not all post were taken with my latest camera, in fact 90% of them were taken with my phone (some a few years ago on Desire HD). I can take criticism but I think I need to correct you on one thing.

Criticising is when you critique on something. When you say it's horrible, that's a critique. Without something to explain your criticism, it would look like you're just hating. For instance if I say that you look ugly, and stopped right there. I'm just a douche bag hating you.

But when you explain that my exposure, angle, subject etc of my photos, THAT'S constructive criticism. I thank you for that, regardless.

And when you say black n white picture, there's only one which is the church of visitation post. Do you mean that?

btw, some of the close shot can be done even better despite using hp camera if you can improve your angle and watch out the direction of the light.....google it up
the last picture i mean is the one with caption "Unable to go Changchun Shrine as the path closed due to rock fall down"

Yes, some of them can be improved. The actual Taiwan trip was at 2008 or so I guess. And all of the photos were taken with Desire HD. The camera is very limiting. Not much settings for me to fiddle with. The last photo that you mentioned was actually a shot of a photo explaining how the pathway was built.

This post may be horrible, but please check out other posts as well.

You can try middle of content and bottom of content for ads placement. Nice blog by the way.
