I bought PGR3 yesterday and was totally enjoying the game. I won a couple of races and bought 4 cars in total. Then i thought i'd check out the Gotham TV feature i heard so much of and watch the pros play. That's when the problem began.

All of a sudden as it was loading the races, the game stopped and there was a pop up saying " This disc is unreadable, clean the disc with a soft cloth and restart the console". I ignored that at first and just returned to playing solo career mode. Then after a few more races in solo, the same menu popped up saying my disc is unreadable.

Finally i had to check if the disc surface and the disc apparently had like a ring of scrathes on it or something which i certainly didnt cause. Now what should i do ? I will try to change the game for something else from the guy i bought it from in Sungai Wang though i dont know if they will allow an exchange since the package was sealed when i bought it.

Help me out here guys, what should i do ? Thanks.

hmmm dont think so the shop will change it for you. actually i got some problems too with my GRAW dvd. good example was last night. tried to load it about 4-5 times and still gave me the error, please put this game into a microsoft xbox360 system to play it. it happened before but after i shutdown the consolde and restart it again then the game will load without any problem at all.

the "please put this game into a microsoft xbox360" problem happened to me once before, i rebooted the machine and its gone.

halflife, did u by any chance tilt the console from vertical to horizontal or vice versa when the console is on with the disc inside? this will definitely scratch the disc. there are also forum postings about consoles scrathing the disc without it being moved, but i can't remember where i've read them.

as for the disc warranty, microsoft doesn't cover scratched discs according to this xbox-scene article.

The problem and permanent solution to PREVENT scratched disk can be found here.

Short version...

DO NOT MOVE OR TOUCH THE CONSOLE WHEN THERE IS A DISC INSIDE, PERIOD.

Go and look for VCD/DVD disc "repairer". I bought mine last time during PC Fair eons ago and managed to fix my scratched PGR3 disc. One bottle can last a looong time.

hey guys,

I bought a cheapo disc polisher from the Mines today for RM9 and polished the disc like crazy when i got back. Since then, the problem only came up only one more time. And after that, i've had no recurring problems. Thanks for the suggestion to buy the disc cleaner MK84 smile.gif

Oh and i put my 360 horizontally xxboxx. Thanks.

Horizontal or vertical doesn't matter. You can still get coasters even if you put it horizontally.
