QUOTE(benny888 @ Feb 15 2013, 12:31 PM) You can use Nexus7 toolkit but choose 4.2.1 as software is not updated yet. Guaranteed it will work without any issues Yeah.. should have cancelled the update.. oh well..One more question tho, once rooted, can we revert back easily to stock if there ever problem with the hardware and needs to be sent to Asus later on? QUOTE(BlackWoods @ Feb 19 2013, 09:46 AM) Unlocking and rooting will void the warranty immediately. Hi. Still undecided whether the unroot my N7 due to warranty concerns. Would ASUS still entertain such claim as long as we lock and unroot our devices before the claim? And is the procedure simple enough as rooting? You have to lock it and unroot again if you want to claim your warranty back. Also, noticed some wired respond on my N7 recently. Screen seems to be pressed / triggered on its own at certain location some time, even though i'm not pressing the screen at all! A screen lock or worst case reboot will definitely solve the problem, but i'm still not sure what causes it. Faulty screen maybe? |

QUOTE(mingwei1992 @ Feb 23 2013, 10:18 AM) Not really sure whether wet / sweaty fingers is the cause since i could not replicate the problem since. Will continue to monitor for any recurrence. QUOTE(Cynox @ Feb 23 2013, 10:58 AM) yup, i also encountered this screen issue but just once. It was like there is invisible fingers keep tapping randomly on the screen. But after a force reboot (holding the power button for a few secs), my N7 get back to normal and the problem never occurs again until today. Yup, invisible fingers taps is an appropriate description of the problem. Good to know i'm not the only one seeing this problem. Really freaked me out then.Btw, planning to get N7 cases. Any good ones to recommend? Am looking at one models with rotating swivel stand function but not sure these would last. Any comments? ![]() Also, from shops that i've asked, not much retailers carry N7 cases. Any good place to shop for N7 cases? |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Mar 7 2013, 11:14 AM) I bought my magnetic case ( with close/open n wakeup sleep function) from EBay for US$17. Very good quality and is still in tip top condition Hi benny,First unit I received there were some slight issues with the magnetic function and I got a new replacement free thereafter http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V...ME:L:OC:MY:3160 [attachmentid=3334677][attachmentid=3334679] [attachmentid=3334681][attachmentid=3334684] Just curious. When getting stuff from Ebay or any other US sites, will Malaysia customs charge us? if so what are the procedures? Tempted to get stuff oversea but not familiar with these shipping / tax charges, if they are applicable. Btw, the case u recommended there looks nice, just wondering is there some sort of magnet to hold the cover when it is fully closed? or would it move around, since there isn't any clamps to lock it in place. |

QUOTE(VisionX @ Jun 2 2013, 12:54 AM) Hey guys, anyone know any lowyat seller that sell Asus OEM charging cable? The one that comes with the nexus 7 set? Mine is broken months ago. Since then I have been using normal USB cable. That might explain why my charge rate is slower than before. I still have the adapter, just the cable is broken. I've been looking for quite some time in lowyat. Appreciate your help! Hi VisionX,Just my 2 cents. I've been using a RM5 replacement cable from Daiso for everyday charging, and find that the charging rate is no different from the original cable. My opinion, no need to spend premium on cables. |

QUOTE(vickyrao @ Jul 9 2013, 01:08 PM) My Nexus 7 has issues such as screen problem where it leaves watermark, battery issue and cannot power up device after battery finished. sent to lowyat, got motherboard, battery, physical buttons and screen changed. completely awesome service and now my device is like new again.Only back cover is still same old. And now the performance is much better. I am still a happy user of Nexus 7. Never regretted one bit. And i got mine from US when its launched. Hi.How much did it cost for the repair? Since you mentioned your unit was from US launch, i presume the warranty is now over, ya? |
