just got my new n7 yesterday. it performed OTA updates to 4.2.2. question now is how can i root from this version?

Yeah.. should have cancelled the update.. oh well..

One more question tho, once rooted, can we revert back easily to stock if there ever problem with the hardware and needs to be sent to Asus later on?

Hi. Still undecided whether the unroot my N7 due to warranty concerns. Would ASUS still entertain such claim as long as we lock and unroot our devices before the claim? And is the procedure simple enough as rooting?

Also, noticed some wired respond on my N7 recently. Screen seems to be pressed / triggered on its own at certain location some time, even though i'm not pressing the screen at all! A screen lock or worst case reboot will definitely solve the problem, but i'm still not sure what causes it. Faulty screen maybe?

Not really sure whether wet / sweaty fingers is the cause since i could not replicate the problem since. Will continue to monitor for any recurrence.

Yup, invisible fingers taps is an appropriate description of the problem. Good to know i'm not the only one seeing this problem. Really freaked me out then.

Btw, planning to get N7 cases. Any good ones to recommend? Am looking at one models with rotating swivel stand function but not sure these would last. Any comments?


Also, from shops that i've asked, not much retailers carry N7 cases. Any good place to shop for N7 cases?

Just curious. When getting stuff from Ebay or any other US sites, will Malaysia customs charge us? if so what are the procedures?
Tempted to get stuff oversea but not familiar with these shipping / tax charges, if they are applicable.

Btw, the case u recommended there looks nice, just wondering is there some sort of magnet to hold the cover when it is fully closed? or would it move around, since there isn't any clamps to lock it in place.

Just my 2 cents. I've been using a RM5 replacement cable from Daiso for everyday charging, and find that the charging rate is no different from the original cable.

My opinion, no need to spend premium on cables.
