is it necessary charge 8 hours for newly bought unit? or charge until 100% is good enough

Not really sure whether wet / sweaty fingers is the cause since i could not replicate the problem since. Will continue to monitor for any recurrence.

Yup, invisible fingers taps is an appropriate description of the problem. Good to know i'm not the only one seeing this problem. Really freaked me out then.

Btw, planning to get N7 cases. Any good ones to recommend? Am looking at one models with rotating swivel stand function but not sure these would last. Any comments?

There are some mods too at forum XDA ( but you need root) to flash these - tested and I find not much improvement and the free app is equally if not better

8 hours charge is "old grandmother fallacy". Just charge it to full or any level you want ; and you can charge it anytime and any number of times without worries

paid app is it? if there were no improvement, i guess other option is external speaker or earphone only la. the biggest reason why i choose N7 over other tablet is because the support it will get from google since it is a flagship device, hopefully mine will come with zero defect.

Charge until 100% and then wait for another 1-2 hours is more than enough.
No need for 8 hours.

i went to lowyat today and to the asus service centre to ask for the price to fix my cracked LCD screen.
they instantly quoted me rm430 for the replacement and might need 1-2 weeks for the repair. HOWEVER...

their system is down due to unifi no connection... zzz
they dont do repair due to unable to record in the system, only collection is allowed.

and they told me recently (past few days) their unifi connection has been on n off (not stable). many customers came all the way down to the service centre only to find out that the server is down and scold them...

all these happened are bcoz their call centre staff are reluctant to give out the service centre phone number. and the call centre is unable to giv u a quotation as well...

i asked the staff there for the service centre contact and i think it is better to share it here so that ppl wont go all the way down and back with disappointment...

ok i got astro file manager installed in my nexus7.

so i use it to delete a folder of files.

then i use my win7 explorer, the file folder is still there.

but when i use astro file manager that folder is not there.

weird? i had to use win7 explorer to delete it another time.

what's going on?
screen suddenly turn on when tablet is in deepsleep?

wake lock is phone awake and never sleep after screen off and not using.
but now i'm having the opposite problem. screen awake when not using.

anyone else having this weird issue?

This is normal MTP bug...i faced this many times with my gnex...the actual file itself is already deleted on the tablet so dont worry about it. replugging in the usb cable might still have the same problem due to cache..rebooting pc might work though but I never tried
