the catch here is my unit is rooted, i specifically told the lady that my unit is rooted, do u guys still accept for service? she said yes, as long as u didnt touch the hardware..

i tot they dont service rooted devices, just like Apple void warranty for jailbreak devices..

that means better than 4.1? how about performance? I heard 4.2 made the nexus 7 laggier than 4.1, but 4.2.2 fixes it right? thx in advance smile.gif

Those who is curious to know how much to replace a screen, it will cost rm430 official from Asus. I just sent mine in because of a hairline cracking from btm left to top right that cause half of my screen to be unusable. Hope I can claim it for free because I didn't drop my n7 or did anything to the screen.

Unlocking and rooting will void the warranty immediately.
You have to lock it and unroot again if you want to claim your warranty back.

Hi. Still undecided whether the unroot my N7 due to warranty concerns. Would ASUS still entertain such claim as long as we lock and unroot our devices before the claim? And is the procedure simple enough as rooting?

Also, noticed some wired respond on my N7 recently. Screen seems to be pressed / triggered on its own at certain location some time, even though i'm not pressing the screen at all! A screen lock or worst case reboot will definitely solve the problem, but i'm still not sure what causes it. Faulty screen maybe?

yup, i also encountered this screen issue but just once. It was like there is invisible fingers keep tapping randomly on the screen. But after a force reboot (holding the power button for a few secs), my N7 get back to normal and the problem never occurs again until today.
