QUOTE(redlyfs @ Feb 19 2013, 08:48 AM) I disagree. Why would smartphone or cellular capable tablets manufactures want to use a chip that doesn't have inter grated cellular support when there's other chips in market that's cheaper and track proven? Sure there's the new nVidia i500 modem but as said, it's still not intergrated and its all theoretically proven. Thus far no major brands plans on carrying Tegra4 except Toshiba, opting for S4 instead. dude....tegra 4 just launched no more than 3 months and you already have a conclusion saying no manufacture would like to use the SoC coz of no integrated cellular modem? time will tell.....im pretty sure there will some brand carry it the separated modem do seems like a deal breaker here but if your SoC is the strongest among....i dont see why manufacture would not use it but it still up to them how they inplant it

QUOTE(talzer @ Feb 18 2013, 09:44 PM) hey does rooting n7 requires 'unlock'? unlocking boatloader will void the warranty? is there anyway to root without unlocking boatloader and void the warranty? Unlocking and rooting will void the warranty immediately. You have to lock it and unroot again if you want to claim your warranty back.

QUOTE(Narako @ Feb 19 2013, 09:52 AM) is it a good time to buy this tablet now? or wait till mwc is over? If you want it now just buy it now, the wait is never ending. New Nexus will be announce during Google event and I think you can only buy it in July onwards.

QUOTE(herojack41 @ Feb 19 2013, 09:40 AM) dude....tegra 4 just launched no more than 3 months and you already have a conclusion saying no manufacture would like to use the SoC coz of no integrated cellular modem? time will tell.....im pretty sure there will some brand carry it the separated modem do seems like a deal breaker here but if your SoC is the strongest among....i dont see why manufacture would not use it but it still up to them how they inplant it You misunderstood, I did not say that no manufacturer wouldn't like it. I implied that there are better options seeing that you mentioned smartphones manufacturers. Additionally, SoC defines as System on Chip, an IC that integrate a system ( in this case, a mobile system ) on a single chip . It's pretty ironic for you to refer Tegra4 as a SoC when it clearly lacks an important component in mobile computing. It's a intellectual conclusion, however inconclusive. Here's some articles to back my opinions. http://jelly-bean-android.blogspot.com/201...erstellern.htmlhttp://www.androidauthority.com/nvidia-tegra-4-fail-152894/http://www.droid-life.com/2013/02/01/nvidi...ra-4-processor/http://seekingalpha.com/article/1123221-wh...-a-bullish-playAdditional to nVidia's setback Tegra4 only be shipping in July, Shield pushed to Sept from June. http://www.thefullsignal.com/news/1809893/...me_delayed.htmlhttp://www.electronista.com/articles/13/02...an.anticipated/-Furthermore Tegra4 architecture seems to be moving towards multiple GPUs, which in their theory would be improving the gaming sector. That also means that game developers should write their codes differently again to cue the execution of tasks to take advantage of the "SoC". Therefore comes the THD exclusive games. Remember Tegrazone? Good luck on that. -Furthermore 2 : Nexus 7 v2. On Snapdragon. List of potential Tegra4 devices wears thinner http://www.androidauthority.com/nexus-7-sn...tegra-4-154532/http://www.droid-life.com/2013/02/07/analy...or-of-qualcomm/This post has been edited by redlyfs: Feb 19 2013, 10:52 AM

QUOTE(Narako @ Feb 19 2013, 11:16 AM) It's not bad. Tegra3 a good chip with overhyped 'Tegra' marketing gimmick. For example, GTA:3 released a THD version, which contained full graphic function and details. Blurs, textures, details etc. In other versions, a lot of these additional graphical options are disabled. However, some phones like Samsung S2 ( what more S3) could handle the full version without a problem. But because it's marketed as a "Tegra exclusive", people tend to believe that only Tegra3 could produce good graphics however in reality it's the full version where else non-Tegra devices is receiving the "lite" version. Rumored to be announced in May. Assuming Newegg picks it up, we could get our hands on it Q3. http://news.yahoo.com/google-next-gen-nexu...-163544667.html

Really wanted to get the N7 but will tahan myself and wait for version 2 Hopefully newegg does indeed pick it up. If not we'll probably have to do bulk purchases. There's always a way though
