wanna ask fellow N7 user here since i am really noob in this and need your advice. very happy user since this tab has amazing battery life and so on until a problem emerged.
I owning N7 3G version now. Last 2 weeks i noticed that my tab has unusual heat problem..feel very warm although without opening any apps and took longer time to charge ..the battery drained very fast too..only 3-4 hours continous screen on time and then the battery kong. then i sent my N7 to Asus SC at lowyat and they changed the battery and it took about a week to get it back to me. after got it, I ran battery test utility by running continous 480p video playback mode (can get it from playstore) and it just last 4h30min only.i heard it can last around 7-8 hours. i also installed better battery stat to see if there is any apps that become a battery drain culprit..but seems everything is normal...but battery usage per hour is at 8-9/hr when idle and 4.7/hr during deep sleep and now i feel that the battery usage for daily basis also quite bad..only few hours kong.. so my question is: 1)please refer to betterbatterystat attachment, is everything going normal? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 2) is N7 battery drain rate is around 8-9/hr when idle and 4.7/hr during deep sleep or well below?i charged and unplugged last night before sleep at 1am..just use for 5 mins before sleep..then when woke up the battery drained to 75% edy without doing anything..haizzz T___T 3)is battery drained problem is associated with motherbod faulty also?since the battery has been change already and no improvement. 4)do i need to resend this tab back to Asus SC? or this problem can be solved by using custom rom?actually im quite happy with the stock rom before this problem arise. *noted that the 3G data i just enabled after woke up..so last night all turned off need advice...hope you will help guys This post has been edited by m_chaoz007: May 30 2013, 10:52 AM |

QUOTE(CyberKewl @ May 30 2013, 07:45 PM) i'm not really sure thoughi at 1st open the back case, disconnect the battery connector thn plug it back thn press on....nothing but if u plugged in the charger...thn i press on...it can start but only for awhile(battery level is at 50%) thn it goes dark again thn after few tries, i try disconnect the IPS display connector, plug it back try go into bootloader mode restart it...thn can already but i play safe, leave the back casing unattached....thn confirm no problem already but at that time i also notice the back casing also helps in boosting the wifi signal(long range) |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ May 30 2013, 08:03 PM) i'm not really sure though are you aware that the battery indicator in the nexus 7 can go wonky ? meaning 50% may not really be 50%, but it could be already at 1%...so it could still be a battery problem...anyway, glad its ok nowi at 1st open the back case, disconnect the battery connector thn plug it back thn press on....nothing but if u plugged in the charger...thn i press on...it can start but only for awhile(battery level is at 50%) thn it goes dark again thn after few tries, i try disconnect the IPS display connector, plug it back try go into bootloader mode restart it...thn can already but i play safe, leave the back casing unattached....thn confirm no problem already but at that time i also notice the back casing also helps in boosting the wifi signal(long range) |

It's only when there's problem people come to this thread. Why does that scare you?

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Jun 1 2013, 12:05 AM) it happened again just now @ 50% battery again i haven't found a way to figure it out just yet...but i know how to solve it. the way to solve it is to leave the tablet uncharged there for 3-4 hours, then charge it again. i never checked if it was hot while charging, just take note that charging from 0% is pretty long even to reach 20%, so give it a good 2 hours before you actually turn it on.since u say the battery lvl maybe inaccurate...how to actually know it?...or any apps can do that? i notice after it shut down like that...once i plugged it into a charger...it ain't charging cuz i tried using another charger....it didn't go hot at all meaning its not charging only after i done the previous steps...the battery logo reappear and charger starts to charge |
