Just came back spending approx 10 days there.

I was staying at my parents house at Kedawang, which is very very near to Pantai Cenang.

May advice anyone going to Langkawi these few days to beware of the erratic weather because it has been raining very heavily during the morning hours due to sudden change in wind direction.

If anyone who is adventurous enough, can trying going to Bukit Malut. There you can enjoy beautiful seaview from nearby fishing village and also enjoy cheap Thai food by local Thai ppl. You can even get free fresh fish from the sea by asking the fishermen. (There are certain reasons why they are giving them off for free).

Anyway, anyone going to buy duty free stuff at Kuah Town, IMHO better go to PL Soon Huat there to buy, which opposite Bayview Hotel and 2 doors away from RHB (I think). The prices of liquor and ciggies are abit cheaper let say compared to Zeno and Native Duty Free Shop

panasonic88,

Lol, well I was fortunate enough that my parents are now living there so I was able to keep my expenses down. So far the most expensive meal that I bought for myself was that RM 35.00++ afternoon tea meal at The Loaf. There are some stuff at The Loaf not worth it. Same as Bon Ton.

There are actually quite a few good places to enjoy food, like T. Jay's (opposite Underwater World) which serves good Italian home made pizza and Sheela's Place which is near Fat Mum Restaurant along Pantai Tengah. Or Mokhtar's place near Bon Ton to eat halal Kwong-Foo Noodles, so that you no need to go all the way to Kuah to eat cheap Chinese food.

Well, it is also good that I manage to buy some duty free ciggies. Came back then realized that ciggie prices jacked up again.

Thank, the advise I got is don't try the seafood there since the price is quite expansive there.
Malay food I probably can't have too much because the coconut milk might make my stomach uneasy.

You have the same probs as me, lol tongue.gif

Anyway, as for seafood you gotta know where to choose.

For me Kuah is a big no no unless I have sudden crave for pork and chinese food, otherwise I will usually go to Pantai Cenang or Pantai Tengah(near Sun Ba there).

If I'm not mistaken, after you pass by the underwater world, there got 1 restaurant called The Lighthouse. Is an ideal place for couples but the meal isn't cheap.
The environment is superb for sure. Facing the sea with live band I think or a people playing violin. Not really sure about this as I didn't actually take my meal there. Thanks to the "nice" price there. laugh.gif

Yeah, I mean since the place have been featured in Discovery Travel and Living so you can expect there is some "price standard" there.

I usually go there and order one big a$$ soda and lime, smoke my J.Cortes cigarillo and occasionally go down to the water there to play.
