If you want to cut cost, go during weekdays.. car rental prices are cheaper.. can get proton bout rm40-50 only. But make sure rent car from jetty, not airport. Weekdays easier to get accommodation too.

Take a taxi there.. should cost rm18 if i remember. While going back, you can arrange to drop off the car at the airport instead.. maybe pay a small fee (bout rm20.. same as taxi fare). You have to calculate and see how many days you're renting whether it is more worth it to rent at airport or jetty.

yes true.. taking a bus straight to kuala perlis, u can just walk to the jetty to board the ferry.. its very near. make sure u board the earliest ferry possible to avoid crowd. earliest ferry around 7.30 am

although tax free most of the things are more expensive than mainland
except for few common things like chocolate, bags

The service is quite okay.. heck got no service at all except rroom service..
The food is erm...    Can eatla.. I have only tried their buffet breakfast.. 

The normal rooms are not that nicela the view.. If u are lucky u might get those at ground floor which are the deluxe rooms, which is much larger and it has a better view (swimming pool lol).

And it is not really at the beach. U have to walk abit to get to Pantai Tengah and a its quite near to Pantai Cenang, the most happening beach..

Second day in Langkawi. I'm staying in Nardias Inn. RM1
50. Not worth it since it's "no star". And the room is as big as First World. Got swimming pool though. Pro: Got free Wifi and I'm typing this with my PDA
One guy just walk in and was quoted RM190

Island hoping: RM230 / boat. Remember to wear swimming suit as there is a stop at the Tasik Daya Bunting and a beach. Eagle feeding is nice. Remember to bring your 12x ultra zoom or 300mm lens.

Tuju Perigi: Free, but walk until exhausted.

Crocodile Farm: RM10, worth a visit as the crods are damn huge.

Underwater world: RM28, regret, many tanks were close.

Lunch: Eat in crocodile farm yesterday, not too bad and reasonable pricing. RM5.50 for a nasi goreng. This afternoon eat at a road side cafe (Pantai Cenang). Sucks! Should have go to Malay store.

Dinner: One at Palm View. Chinese Cuisine. 6 adults & 3 children. Fish (hung chao), fried sotong, taufu, vege, etc, RM123. Reasonable.
Second one at a Mr. Chew Chinese Restaurant opposite of Aseana Hotel, almost the same dishes as the dinner yesterday, RM132. Reasonable.

Car rental RM80 for an Iswara.
