awana porto malai, hmm i stayed there b4, its so so only.. like others say.. no beach. but they have a nice walk way path which can see the beach. not really beach but a docking bay for the cruises.. really bad view..

langkasuka was really bad. i heard no good comments about it..
if can afford, i recommend sheraton resort, i tried the executive suit b4, very nice.. walk out is the beach d.. very quiet and relaxing place..

anyway. i m planning to go during this sept as well, this time my accomo will be "Sunset beach resort", anyone stay there b4? i think its a new resort, coz i went there for 4 times also never hear it b4... any comments on dat?

its a normal standard room, facing the sea as well.. facing the dock le.. there got one stairway down to the wooden walk way path...

budget trips.. hmm i dun think there is any water chalets budget enough

since i myself had planned for this sept, i booked Sunset Beach Resort, from wat i see is kinda nice. i assume its a new resort,

price is kinda reasonable, per night basis ranged frm rm160, rm190, rm220 (3 types of rooms), i was told there is a 10% discount for off-peak periods.

its located in pantai tengah, very near pantai cenang, wer all forumers say at nite its more happening there.

sad to say, they have no facilities at all... why do we actually need facilities, when we gonna go out sightseeing?

I tot langkawi can go all year round? lol.. i always go around middle of the year.. nice weather.. so far it didnt rain..

i should say.. ppl normally go for the duty free items.. but i would say its not anymore "cheap" most of the items are not really that worth even there's duty free.

Food is freaking expensive there. Every shop looks like a "slaughter shop" they gonna cut ur throat. So u save on liquor but pay more for food, in the end is still the same, imo

unless ur planning on bring a 4Liter back.. then its freaking worth.. if u just wanna drink your freaking trip off i suggest just go tioman island.. food is cheap. accomo is cheap.. and liquor is also duty free..

yeahh.. but then alot of ppl nowadays take plane over.. so choppy sea really doesnt matter, THANKS AA!! lol

depends what u gonna do... well as for langkawi.. truthfully la.. all go there drink and smoke till ur lungs turn black..
Regardless the bad weather there are alot of stuff u can do there.. like the Skybridge, rent a car drive around.. i love driving in langkawi, no traffic jam
i can park the car where i want, and dun even have to lock the car!!

if u really keen on going for watersports and diving etc etc, u should know the weather 1st.. its very obvious that weather is very important

But then because of AA nowadays we plan holiday according to cheap flights which determines the season. well atleast thats the way for me

1. Accomodation: i suggest "Sunset Beach Resort", nice staff, value for money and "so so" environment. i suggest accomodation get cheap ones coz most of the time u wont be in the resort. Trust me. but then girls really mind of cleanliness so i think this resort will be suitable

2. Rent a car, because the tourist places are quite far away. mind u that petrol is equavalent to KL price.. i still remember in 2000, the petrol is very cheap in langkawi

3. Places to visit -
Langkawi Skybridge --> for me its an unforgetable experience coz i sked of height lol!!
Pulau Payar Marine Park tour ---> i didnt go for this as its kind of costly.. but my gf went b4 and she said its very nice
The other historical places ---> i skipped this coz we do not have enough time, but its ok if u like all this history stuff
The Loaf ----> Bakery owned by Tun Dr Mahathir.
Kuah Town ---> for bigger shopping malls.

4. REally depends on what u plan to do.. watersports or just sightseeing. I didnt go for watersports as the water there really bad. Unless u go pulau payar tour.

pulau payar depends, the last time i surveyed was rm150~rm180 which include lunch and all ur snorkelling equipments. its quite pricey

pretty beach? perhaps beaches in andaman or Datai only has "pretty" beaches

For pulau payar tour, u can ask ur hotel for the package and organise for you. as well as the mangroove tour.

Car rental damn cheap.. if taking plane. walk out of the hall sure alot of ppl approach.. i once rent a nissan sentra rm120 for 3days 2nites..

But this sentra consume damn alot of petrol... we pump like rm100 for 3days 2nites.. didnt go where much.. frm cenang to kuah then geopark.. etc etc

i read b4 a blog got recommend a seafood restaurant in langkawi..
the name is called "A hole in the Wall" its located in GEOpark i think..
can do a google..
