Well there are selling in SHOPS in JB. The Local Giant Centipede that is. Looks damn ganas. RM2 for 1 bugger...

so huge..sure very fierce de...RM2 for 1 ar..hmmm..won expensive...but scary~~

How large does the locals get? They're being sold as food or pets?

RM2 each..so as food or pets is depend on u liao..

in malaysia...yes they are commonly sold in fish/aquarium shops. And they are regarded as food for exotic fish like arowanas coz they are said to bring out the beautiful colours of the fish. The ppl overseas are keeping as pets n here we all just feed them to fish. haha. But anyway they are still ncie to keep as pets. Easy to keep too n eat insects. Altho u need to be careful. They can and will sting u..with their legs(no they dun bite u with their mouth or wutever).

i saw a short clip , a bigbig centipede eating a small white mouse ...that was terrifying !! so so so many legs !!

They are nice...colorful too for some species

but tis 1 too big size until can eat mice..scary liao..

malaysian giants are red in color. they're called cherry red me thinks. saw it once at melaka zoo. not on display, the zoo keepers are either playing with it or trying to catch it. that thing is more than 1 feet long

i saw one centipate in my houseyard....
damn big and also long.... about 1 ft, i think more than that...
both me and my father get surprise...
u know la, that time the kid of me, i sure ran away one as been told by my father....
luckily the centipate ran away, if not sure been kill by my father one...

Last time in school I moved a big rock and i saw a centipade with her eggs there. wow, small but extremely aggressive, like dragon moving. Still, due to size matter, she lost to me.

Well just curious. I know they're much more dangerous compared to tarantulas. But after watching the vid of the giant centipede eating the mouse just stirred some excitement.

Yeah read that the giant red centipede was one of the most lethal insects inlcuded into the list of death together with black widow, brazilian wandering spider, recluse spider and the yellow fat tailed scorpion.
