What I foresee to happen with Malaysia connection in the coming expansion:

Jump gate activated > Traveling through jump wormhole > Sudden disconnection/severe lag (Unknowingly) > Trap in wormhole animation (like forever) > Perm nerd boner

They buffed the cruise missiles smile.gif
I think they're OP now.

Good then. rclxms.gif
Or else my raven will keep on gathering dust in the hangar. BC kinda outshine my raven BS pre-odyssey. (Might be unfair to compare with my BS related skills slightly lower than BC)

Checked up on his profile, trying to imagine what happened in my mind:
- Less than 1 year old
- Self-made CEO
- Early miner life
- Possibly looking to kill some pve frigates in low sec
- Directly jump into Caldari Navy Raven (CNR) , feeling that it's safe in a BIG battleship, hastily fitted half of the ship with random stuffs looted from previous pve
- Jump into low sec, met some players after some time
- Perhaps engaged in a fight, thinking his ship is bigger and superior than those battlecruisers and cruisers (too confident to even deploy drones?)
- Found that he's only able to scratch the tip of enemy's shield
- Try to escape but tackled (most probably do not even know he's tackled)
- Panic and dunno what to do
- A fiery death for CNR
- Dumbfounded, forgot to spam warp while in pod
- Woke up in home station
- Fly in a noobship provided by pend insurance, going back to retrieve his wrecks
- And yea....another deathmail 35 minutes later....

*Pity those CNR crew members on-board

Hi guys, i just started playing eve online yesterday. I was wondering if there is any newbie guide that is good that can let me understand more ?
*
As Boonie said, the 5 career missions would give you a rough idea what's EVE is on the surface. (Exploration, Business, Industry, Military, Advance Military)
To get real-time advice from us, join the chat channel: kopitiam

After you have finished all career missions, refer to the following link to see which interest you more and want to try it out, then look for us for further advice
EVE career choice
EVE career guide <-- PDF site, can be downloaded

If you don't mind reading loads of articles, you can try search around here:
UNIWIKI
EVElopedia
ISK The Guide - Vol 1 <-- PDF direct download

There's tons of information out there. Personally, it took me almost a month of reading to learn the 'theory' side of it (which pays off since I can avoid lots of unwanted screw up and progress smoothly the way I wanted). The 'practical' side of it could only be learn from experience (youtube might help but nothing beats experience it first hand).

That's all for now. Fly safe cool2.gif

Do you guys subscribe for 1 yrs? This is expensive game, if can i wanna learn more in the trial period only decide to subscribe
*
You might need to subscribe for the first few months. After you got yourself established, you can opt to pay using in-game currency. Almost equivalent to selling your in-game currency for other players to pay subscription for you, just that the process go through CCP via the PLEX system.

nope....not for me....

Back to topic,
- In other games, you're usually forced to choose 1 specialization right from the start and stick with it till your death. (fighter, archer, mage, etc....)
- In EVE, you choose your own specialization at your own pace and able to switch to others anytime you wish. Given enough time, the trend goes like this:
Clueless newbie > Specialist > Jack of all trades, Master of few > MASTER of all trades
You'll get to do more things as time goes on

NOTE: Veteran players does not mean they're better than you, they just get to do more stuffs than you. As long you're more specialized than them in a particular skill set, you'll stand to steamroll them or at least compete on the same ground.

do ppl really buy those?? just wondering...

If I understand correctly, those big alliance top dogs do. Getting alts to fill in certain specialized role.
But they usually do it through the CCP approved method I guess, not through ebay.

i'm in already
is there only one server for the whole game unlike wow?
lastly , does a different faction people play together or with their own kind?
*
Tranquility server is for the whole world. There's a separate one named Serenity but that one specifically for China. They still be able to join Tranquility if they know how to communicate in English.
[Here's the history of activity for Tranquility server: eve-offline.net - Tranquility Server Activity]

Different factions of people can still band together no matter what is their starting faction/race/bloodline. It all boils down to your standings to respective factions [whether they like/hate you, all determined by your decisions and actions]. You can choose to be ultra loyal to one faction and piss off all other factions, be neutral and friendly to everyone.....OR if you have the ambition and balls, you can screw all standings and build your own empire.
NOTE: Make them hate you enough, they'll kill you on sight in their 'air-space'

In short from what sumjs just told you, its basically a free for all what you can do in this game. Even if you are in the same group, you can still shoot them. Nothing is risk free in Eve Online, you do such crazy things of course there will be retaliation though, either from the game police aka Concord or from other players. Hell even if you mining in empire space some bored players can just come and blow you up for no reason but just want to see you vent your rage in the local chat.
*
Here's an example with one of the way players can gank you up in high security space (aka CONCORD policed space)

Flow of event:
A squad of battleships fitted with smartbombs warp to an asteroid belt full of miners. There they activated their weapons and blow up everything in their vicinity. In the end, ships are blown, pods are podded, billions of ISK are lost, tears salvaged cool2.gif

Side info:
Purple icons are squad-mates. Yellow triangle icons are wrecks of blown ships. "Cross" icons at the lower right corner of the screen after the carnage are the CONCORD police, too late to save the miners.
Smartbombs are AOE weapons that damage everything, friends and foe, several kilometers around the ship.
Once podded, what's left is your lifeless body floating in space. Next, waking up in a new clone with anything lost just now is permanent.

Aren't they called griefers?
the one who just for the fun of it attack and blow up new / rookie players?
*
Those who repeatedly gank/harass someone purposely is considered as griefing, not necessary ban-able, but those act on newbies in rookie systems are liable to be banned by CCP. If the aggressors are just flying around ganking random poor victims, it's perfectly legal in EVE. There's even some player corporations formed for the purpose of ganking random miners, extortion and such (they make a living just like real life gangsters). CCP will not intervene in these events. It's up to players to either avoid these 'pirates' or take up arms against them. Or even better, form a corporation that specifically apprehend these group of pirates.

NOTE: If you have a large bounty on your head (somehow you offended someone rich or a large group of public), expect trigger-happy players to repeatedly hunt you down until your bounty clears. They are there for the bounty, not for harassment.

It's being updated to Odyssey expansion, so the info won't be that far off.

wow thanks! now I beginning to regret starting neverwinter. such an active and friendly group we have here (in lyn).

just got my computer upgraded and was rushing to max out the setting with new games. so I did neverwinter. Wow was not so demanding in cpu specs unfortunately.

how about eve, does it demand a lot of juice from the hardware?
*
You can set for the highest to make full use of your specs. The juice demand gets higher when you're involve in big blob warfare like The Battle of Asakai. Those using specs from Windows XP era can still play smoothly too using the graphic settings almost equivalent to 6-8 years ago. It's pretty flexible when comes to graphic settings.
