If you want instant gratification type of game, then EVE is probably not it. It's going to be the first game you play where you have to do a lot of reading as the game is very in-depth, has open ended content (basically there's no ending and you can do whatever you want) and most activities are player driven (wars, politics, sabotage, farming, etc all depends on players, so if you want a scripted play, this is not it).

As some of the others have mentioned, learning curve for EVE is very high and it's a love or hate relationship with the game. Either you love it or hate it, nothing in between.

On that note, most of us has been playing for years (off and on). I've played numerous other MMO's including WOW. I always come back to EVE at some point.

As EVE is a sandbox game with no ending, it's basically vast and very small at the same time.

It's very small as in if you're playing alone, you would be bored of the game very fast regardless of what profession you chose.

My suggestion to you would be to join a corporation early on. You can always leave and look for other corporation if their gameplay don't suit yours down the road.

At the moment, there's two active Malaysian/SG corp that's recruiting. PillowFighters Inc [P-LOW] and House of Nim-Lhach [HN-L]. You can check them out at the KOPITIAM channel.

Elsewhere, there are also newbie friendly corps like EVE University [E-UNI] and BRAVE NEWBIES Inc. [SB00N].
