Hai, iam using sempron 2800+ socket 754 with MSI K8N Neo3, Icute casing and enermax PSU. becoz my local area here does not sell such stuff so want to ask someone opinion regarding of those two giant coolers. Which one is better in terms of cooling the CPU, if a same and normal fan applied on both cooler...

I'd go with the HR-01
Tower coolers are the new "in" thing Isn't it quite a bit more expensive too? btw, its CPU, not PCU This post has been edited by KilJim: Mar 27 2006, 11:35 PM |

Oh, sorry for the typo errors... Anyway, how much is the retail price for the XP-90? so far i knew there is a thread
which sells the HR-01 @ RM 200, with duct fan + RM 30... but the duct fan seems work inefficiency.. so how do you think of it? |

If you plan to get Noctua,i suggest go for Scythe Ninja, god of air cooler.
You can get them in bulk order section if there's bulk going on for in or in OP. |

actually from my experience, if you're going for a silent setup the air being blown through the heatsink is very very weak
that's why i didnt bother after trying out the xp-120 but if you're going for a powerful fan then that's a different story |

well i still believe xp/si 120 is a good choice since the compatibility and the size + performance with avg fans. although it cant perform well as a passive, but comparing the size with the ninja its clearly seen who's the winner already. however, si 120 dont have compatibility issues, fits in most casing too..
but going for high speed fan is another story, there are better options out there. going for passive is another option too, but for overclocking? if you really wanted a silent but powerful setup, get watercooling instead. B) |

from the original 2 options, i wud recommend xp90 since i'm not fond of passive cooling. scythe ninja does kick other HSF's butt(if u kno wat i mean) but the weight n size of it, i definitely kenot tahan ar. thus, living happily ever after wif my Si-120. kudos tu DaEMoNteNTAcLe for his recommendation, dat is. or mebbe it was another guy?? 4got liao.
