QUOTE(MuhdHusaini @ Aug 10 2007, 06:24 PM) The monthly fees vary according to the type of membership you have (local versus passport) and the length of your membership (yearly versus monthly). I suspect that the joining fee can vary from 0 - 300 RM, based on anecdotal evidence. On my end, I pay about 175/month for a yearly passport membership. I have no idea what everyone else is paying, though. |

QUOTE(cheeann @ Aug 13 2007, 02:51 AM) no point joining ff as they not really good n nice 2 u after register lo. . . . I've since learned to accept that the customer service is going to be inconsistent at best at Fitness First. I tend to encourage people set on joining FF to get the Passport membership, simply because it doesn't tie you down to any one (horrible) branch.i encounter tis n suffer paying 175. . .. lousy ff customer service sum more haiz~ especially da 1 in leisure mall le. . . it's really sucks I've heard Menara Axis has the best service/equipment, but I've never actually been there--so I can't judge. |

QUOTE(dokidoki @ Aug 13 2007, 10:31 AM) actually i stay quite near menara axis...before this i actually want to join FF at menara axis..but then my colleague (current FF member) say menara axis always pack with ppl ....especially after work hour The Curve is pretty terrible during peak hours, too. So far, the only FF location I've found that doesn't get unbearably crowded is the Uptown one (but it's also the worst outlet, which would explain a lot). |

QUOTE(kianweic @ May 2 2008, 12:46 PM) Thanks, I will alternate between both Curve and Uptown ones. I use the Uptown one for the same reason.Uptown one is a lot closer to my home than Curve (less than 5 mins from home), I carpool to work so it's not convenient half the time. Uptown has a lot of cardiovascular equipment but really lacks in free weights area big time. They should really upgrade that area. Might drop by Curve during Mondays or Wednesdays. Cheers Also because there's a McDonald's right next door. Yum! |

QUOTE(Neon_86 @ Sep 5 2008, 12:13 PM) This is true (I found out the hard way when I was doing a project overseas). Also, you can only use normal FF outlets--your Passport membership doesn't cover Fitness First Platinum outlets in other countries, either. |

QUOTE(Desvaro @ Jan 12 2009, 12:01 PM) To be honest I have not heard very good things about FF Uptown. The complains are usually regarding the free weights area being too small, and too crowded. Perhaps you should drop by the gym during the time you intend to workout and see for yourself how the situation is like. Ha, I see my one-man outreach program about my particular FF branch is finally getting some traction. |

QUOTE(iceypain @ Mar 12 2009, 07:03 PM) If I want to stop going to FF after my 1 year contract ends, do I have to terminate or is it understood if I don't renew the contract? You have to actively cancel the contract. Also, make sure you see the manager or whatever at least a week or so BEFORE the contract is due to expire--they're usually very iffy about letting you quit without penalties based on the timing. |

What the hell are FF's public holiday hours? I just went to the Uptown outlet (I forgot it was Wesak Day) and was greeted by closed doors. Dammit!

QUOTE(yeezai @ May 13 2009, 08:38 PM) yeap i wonder why they still charge so high compare to other centre...im paying 150 for passport which i think is way above average...i have tried california trial for a week and the price they give way more cheaper and nearer to where i work...damn i think FF should reduce the prices and reno the place abit if not alot members going to change ... Hard to say if that'll ever happen, given how restrictive the membership contracts are. |

I'm kind of mystified about the point of FirstClub (I 'upgraded' to this today)--being allowed to bring guests on alternate weekend days and check VCDs out for a longer period of time is hardly a loyalty program.
Especially if you consider that even before FirstClub was rolled out, this page already said: QUOTE Question: Can I bring a guest with me to the club? Answer: You may bring up to three guests with you to a Fitness First Club at any one time. Your guest(s) will be required to complete a Guest Registration Form. Guests are entitled to the same membership privileges as the member who is escorting them. To bring additional guest, you may purchase a one-day membership at a discounted rate. Please refer to the front desk for more information or speak to your membership consultant. |

QUOTE(yennshin @ May 22 2009, 09:10 PM) If I understand correctly, with FirstClub you can bring the same guest over and over again on weekends. I took the Fitness First page to mean "you can bring up to three guests with you at any single time" versus "you can only bring three guests with you over the course of your membership," but I'm guessing it's just very poorly phrased. |

QUOTE(ask_dino @ Aug 19 2009, 08:41 PM) You're best off taking the gym tour--the sales reps at FF weren't nearly as aggressive or rude as the ones at Celebrity Fitness, in my experience. Anyway:I think The Curve has one of the better FF outlets. It's just that dealing with the traffic in the area during peak hours is a huge drag. In terms of crowds, M-F mornings and afternoons aren't bad at all. Evenings are horrendous, though--the place is PACKED, and you'll probably end up waiting to use the equipment regardless of whether you're using a cardio machine or something in the free weights area. The weekend crowds are pretty manageable. The manager at The Curve is apparently very proactive in dealing with equipment replacement/repairs and other customer complaints, unlike a lot of other managers who seem content to ignore broken equipment for weeks on end. Last thing: The men's sauna and steamroom are full of creepy perverts. Don't use 'em. |

QUOTE(seanlel @ Sep 8 2009, 01:06 PM) If it's anything like the FF Platinum system in Indonesia, it means that there will be specific FF branches which are only open to Platinum members. The one-time upgrade payment sounds a bit unusual, though. I vaguely remember the membership fees for FF Platinum in Jakarta being pricier. |
