Actually big or small doesnt really matter as long as healthy. My son is 2 years old but now 17 - 18kg. When he was born, he is 3.9kg. When the paed mark my son on the graph, everything is break record!!! And the dr said that graph is from USA for westerner but yet both my son exceed it. Their father (my hubby) is 6'3". I agree with what most say here, gene plays a role.

Just so you know you're not the only one out there, so everything's fine! smile.gif

What did you feed ya baby? and how often?
I believe either you or ya hubby or both are tall and big size

http://www.childgrowthcalculator.com/
Gender = Boy
Weeks old = 8 months
Weight = 10.5 kg [98.6 percentile]
Height = 75 cm [97.7 percentile]

Yup, I am 170cm, my hubby 178cm. My parents are very tall as well smile.gif

Paeds said baby's BMI ok, means weight and height proportionate...

TS was your baby big at birth?

Diabetics tend to have big babies. Genes is also a contributory factor.

Normally a baby would lose some weight during the first week then gradually put on weight.

Your baby seems fine, the doctor said so too.

Waa.. about the same as ya baby..  icon_idea.gif  icon_idea.gif
My baby was born with 3.37 kg and 51 cm

Usually we weight baby using this method:
- Get a normal weighing device
- Weight myself, A
- Weight myself + baby, B
Then baby weight = B - A
*
Smart way to weight your baby! thumbup.gif I was thinking of buying a luggage weighing scale and put my baby into the nappy and hook the nappy up with the weighing scale. Your method is smarter!

Looks like ya baby weight percentile is dropping and might need to wait for some time before ya baby weight will stabilize at which percentile
Btw, what's ya baby height? And what you feed ya baby?
- Formula Milk or
- Formula Milk with Breast Milk or
- Breast Milk

Birth (Week = 0 week)
Weight = 4 kg (96.4 percentile)

2 months old
Weight = 6.2 kg (91.9 percentile)

Yes, I do :-) I'm currently using the black & white flash cards for my 3 month old baby. Most of the time she will look attentively on the cards. Good way to calm her down ;-)

Actually my baby eat quite a lot. My parents believe to give as much as he can eat. My in law believe to control the diet not to expand the tummy unnecessarily. If we go out for dinner, he can eat one big rice like adult and often more. He is also very very active, run, fall down, etc. Just like normal kids but every time fall down, continue running, not scared. As for the height, not sure cause have not measure recently. Now that you asked, I also become curious. Will try to measure tonight.
