Just sent it to DSC for focus screen and sensor cleaning...
Tough time trying to clean the focus screen and only made it worst because every speck sticks to it

Recently did a teardown and cleaning of a Pentax Refconverter-M.
There's significant dirt trapped inside and I couldn't use it ![]() ![]() For those interested the entire teardown photos on Photobucket. http://s3.photobucket.com/user/aaronpang/l...xRefconverter-M |

QUOTE(minizian @ Nov 26 2015, 10:51 AM) Wonder where are the pentax ppl are.... Talked to a dealer and they say pentax is very small for as compared to other brand... Look for pentax2u.com and talk to William for promos and freebies.I think i can see the dslr have good value in it... But what up with SDM issues on the lens? Frustrating to deal with local camera shops most of the salesperson totally blur. Try asking for step-up-rings and either salesperson dunno or insisting it's a UV filter hahaha |

QUOTE(minizian @ Nov 27 2015, 04:05 PM) Thanks for the heads up bro. The dealer I told me about how good pentax was but not very keen to carry teh brand as not many people buy this brand as compared to canon/nikon cameras. I did handle KS 2 as they have test sample and not bad to be honest. The Super Takumars are wonderful lenses, can adapt them to nearly any modern camera. Not to mention i had some of their old super takumar lens which is gorgeous too Still use them with Spotmatic cameras. Metering feels more natural on the Spotmatics so I rarely mount them on digital QUOTE(flamestudio @ Nov 28 2015, 11:34 AM) True most ppl dun even think Pentax when it comes to buying a new DSLR. Very sad coz Pentax products are fantastic. |

QUOTE(koguma @ Jan 22 2016, 10:13 AM) Hello fellow Pentaxians! Refer to this article... should be helpful, maybe the english is not so good but the pictures are helpful.I need some help with an old K2000. I long time ago, I changed the focusing screen in the camera to work better with manual lenses. Unfortunately, the focusing is now at the back of the screen. I need someone to help adjust the focusing screen. It's not really Pentax specific. If there's a shop in Kuching, Sarawark that can do it, please let me know! http://www.focusingscreen.com/work/test-fsen.htm Basically you'll need some copper shims to adjust the focusing screen. Unfortunately I don't know of any shops that can help in East Malaysia. Hope the info helps! |

QUOTE(wuwah @ Mar 8 2016, 05:19 PM) Help! Is this fungus Looks like fungus... try shining light through the other end of lens for better idea of what is it. ![]() http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/flashlight-test.htm Slow down the fungus growth place the lens in sunlight for a couple of hours. Hopefully nothing serious like element separation, happened to me once and the lens is totally wrecked. Once it's confirmed fungus, get a quote from shashinki or local camera shop if the lens is worth saving. This post has been edited by aaronpang: Mar 14 2016, 01:24 PM |
