Just sharing my post in primitive fish thread Casualty in turtle tank : The pump wire being bitten by Fly the PNT. Naughty guy indeed. When i touched the water, it feels like an electric shock! I tried several times and still the same. Tell u.. it hurts. Surprisingly the PNT and all feeder fishes seem normal, no sign of stress let alone shocks. I tried to nurse the wounded wire by applying thick tapes, but to no avail, still feels electricity in water. Well, maybe its time for a new pump. Or i'll just use normal powerhead pump (for top filters). Lower flowrate though Currently on powerhead pump :

QUOTE(SAMPERTH @ Feb 2 2013, 07:42 AM) They dont really feel anything due to them not connected to " earth wire " we are standing on the ground thus the " shock " pass thru us to go underground !!
Water has sipped thru the breakage into the wire , u need to dry the whole thing for at least a week before reusing if not you will still feel the shock !! Getting a new pump is still best choice .
Cheers Thanks. Thats what i thought too, being an earth wire is a terrible experience indeed! Yea i'm drying the pump up now. Will leave it be for a week or two. Then maybe try applying electric tape with PVC solvent. In the meanwhile i'm using a normal powerhead pump as in last picture. Tank running as usual with lower flowrate pump, reducing current speed a little.

Bro byakuya, try feeding it sinking pellets. Both of my PNTs ate Sega sinking pellets (the one for crayfish) and Sanyu Hercar wafers.
U can watch videos on youtube got owners even succesfully hand-feed their PNT.

QUOTE(outsider @ May 25 2013, 11:17 PM) how much u bought the blue tank? That one was 3'x'2'x1' in size. Dont quite remember as i bought it long time ago, I think around rm50-70 or so. But last year i bought a bigger plastic tank, 4x3x1.5 from the same manufacturer, costs at rm250. Here's another shot of that small 3 footer : *But please, mind the heat and sunlight if u plan to keep them outdoors. I've had my lesson. Good luck This post has been edited by antzz: May 26 2013, 09:05 AM

Maybe the water. Did u put salt in it? When i did years ago, pnt shell always got thin white layers on the shell, and it always look like peeling off.

QUOTE(wKkaY @ Aug 21 2013, 11:53 PM) After about 5 months, this slider is starting to show signs of new scute growth coming up from under Hopefully it won't be long before the retained scutes get pushed off! And this one just shedded its marginal scutes, revealing nice green scutes underneath! Congrats. How do u set the whole tank up? Any platform for basking purpose? Ur turtles look great.
