I regularly feed my turtles a big meal on Friday and leave them unfed over the weekends (because I'm not around to feed them). I've left them for as long as 4 days without food, and they seem fine...

Anyone has experience in differentiating North Indian star, South Indian star and Sri Lankan star? I have searched online, and although some said they are slightly different in terms of shell pattern, size in adulthood, but we can only be sure if we know the origin. Anyone has comment on this?

Wow I'm getting brown algae blooming all over my tank again. I did a full water change last Monday so this bloom happened quite quickly.

We tortoise owner have relatively lesser problem comparing to turtle owner it seems, at least based on this thread.

Ha ha... the worms are back sad.gif

On the flip side, my oldest-but-smallest turtle finally basked enough to shed its scutes too! It's great to see the green shell reveal itself underneath after a few years.

Hi bro, do you mind to share your sulcata housing habitat picture? I do have a pair of Sulcata, brought over last year August and i keeping them in the 2ft aquarium.

Slowly i realize the 2ft aquarium do not suit them and i plan to build a wooden housing for them. At least got some space for them run around.

Anyone here try to keep Sulcata with Star before?

Our sulcata and stars are in the same enclosure.
Before.. the sulcata was so small now bigger than the stars!
so far so good. the appetite of the sulcata is far bigger than the stars so sometimes we have to feed them separately.

Our male star now has begun "dry humping" everything. sleep.gif

Might need to separate him from the rest .

After about 5 months, this slider is starting to show signs of new scute growth coming up from under rclxm9.gif Hopefully it won't be long before the retained scutes get pushed off!

And this one just shedded its marginal scutes, revealing nice green scutes underneath!

I thought off build a metal housing for my sulcata since the 2ft aquarium do not have much space for them.

I plan earlier using wooden type but i'm afraid of termite therefore now i change to metal sheet.

Possible to have metal sheet housing?
