okay...most probably is your crown loach cause that.
such issue has been experienced by many people who keeping bottom feeder with pnt, which is not advisable .

nope..the pnt was in another tank, just put in there that very day.

Maybe the water. Did u put salt in it? When i did years ago, pnt shell always got thin white layers on the shell, and it always look like peeling off.

I don't think is good to feed with that pellets only,
If u feeding only pellets, might as well as get Hikari Algae Wafer which is good for pnt. Your diet might be causing that issue too..

I'm keeping the leopard in a blue fiber tank with black soil mixed with coconut coil.

I'm keeping my star in a cage with those black floor mat. Not an idea enclosure but I try to soak them a bit more frequent to avoid dehydration.

I have limited space as I am keeping all four on my balcony..

Could be fungus, which is something you'll have to look out for when it comes to FRTs. They prefer alkaline waters which is said to prevent fungus from growing. Salt also helps. So keep your PH high, add a bit of salt and it should go away in a week or so.

I am having a hard time searching for a suitable substrate for my tortoise. May I know where do you bought your black soil and coco coil? Currently using hay but not recommended in a long run because it contains too much protein that will cause kidney failure on continuous consumption.

Also if there is any chance, do your current house near any pet shop? I need to purchase UVB bulb and thermometer and whatnot but nonono (@ nonono) don't have the stock right now

Just go to any nusery, get those black soil premixed with coconut coil. Tell them you want those without any pesticide added.

I'm not staying near to any pet shop. I will usually go to a pet shop somewhere at ampang. After u pass by waterfront, a satay station, keep to your right immediately and turn right at the traffic light. Immediately u will see the pet shop on your left (the 1st one at the row of shop lot). Sorry I can't remember the name.

You can also go to Reptiles Planet & Pet Studio at jalan klang lama but I try not to as I find that all the things there are expensive. Look at the price they r selling the aldabra.. --> MYR 9,500..

The surface peeling not that much of a worry !! Water quality do play a part beside the lightings ...... As other mention diet a part too !!

The parts I highlighted in red bubble may or may not be a bigger worries later on as it grow bigger !!

What are those in the bubbles u mentioned? Anything i can do for it? Btw,i got this turtle from an owner who mixed the turtle with another, resulting it having quite severe injuries, the shells were full of holes and wounds.now it is much better..

Even with less than 500 wild specimen ( less than that number in captive ) Yniphora can only command less than RM 5000 a pc ( last known price of 3" ) HOW much do you think an Egyptian is worth ( you can think many things BUT there are a few hundred captive specimen in the world ) I know many of those colony - Europe , USA , parts of Asia including Malaysia ..................

EGYPTIAN are not that rare overall as a sp !!

Pricing is what you think its worth - IF YOU LIKE its priceless , if you dont need it anymore its worthless till you found another who wants and needs it !!

Just personally asked in the pet shop, top floor MidValley. They quote me approximately RM10k for tortoise of 5-7 years old. Hatchling >RM700.

I would like to ask a question: Why is aldabra much expensive since it is not as rare as yniphora?
