Question here..
I'm planning to use sand as substrate for my razorbacks and I've been doing a lot of research on what sand to use. Heard that play sand or pool filter sands are good. Couldnt find play sand but i found pool filter sand. I've found one shop selling pool filter sand and was wondering if its safe to use. I know i have to wash it beforehand as well. Below is the link to the sand i saw.. https://www.lelong.com.my/swimming-pool-fil...8-07-Sale-P.htm |

hello here!
i just adopted 2 red eared sliders last week and gave them a slightly bigger home (nothing more than just a container actually) and they look more happy now after reading more from the internet, i'm thinking to get them a basking light with a basking station. i wonder what kind of basking light is recommended for a very young RES and where can i buy them? (Lazaxx or TaxBax link is fine if it is not against the rule here i just went to a pet shop today and saw some basking lights for the iguanas and dry tortoise but the staff told me they're not for "wet tortoise" so i'm kinda lost what kind of basking light i should buy for them. any advise? QUOTE(Relentless @ Dec 16 2017, 12:27 PM) I have kept my mata2 turtle over the last 1 month. Hi there, just wondering how your Mata Mata is doing? So far I only do water change weekly basis I dont monitor my turtle, all I did was to make sure there are fishes in the tank for it to feast on.I used catappa leaves to reduce the water pH Mine has almost doubled it's size since I got it. It is now around 5" (carapace). |

QUOTE(ron c @ Feb 26 2018, 04:01 PM) Hi there, just wondering how your Mata Mata is doing? Hi there.Mine is about the same size as last time.Mine has almost doubled it's size since I got it. It is now around 5" (carapace). This is probably due to selective feeding i have for him, through wild caught feeder fish such as ghost prawn, soon hock etc. As for the frequency, its I 3x perweek All the other setup remain the same, use blackwater for water change weekly |

Guys,
Will an enclosed area under a mango tree be sufficient enough as a natural habitat for a box turtle? Thank you. |

I am thinking of getting a Leopard Tortoise or Brown Emys.
Which is a better choice? Or a Kenya Giant Tortoise? |
