Yeah bug, currently zombies will go thru walls. See you far away is normal. You must run quite a distance before they stop chasing you. They also will face the direction of a shooting I think.

Did you double tap 'W' for sprint or were you just jogging? When I started playing, I was also jogging away from the zombie, but that fella chased me until the forest, but once I started sprinting away, it will stop after a while since you can put considerable distance away.

Lost char is known issue (We all roll back to a 5-6 days old char on regular server, veteran/hardcore server will be a fresh start as it uses different hive).
You can change your name on menu bottom right corner, just click on your IGN and edit away. Currently default to PC user name.

Same here, guess they are using the old backup database...had lost my mosin 9130 but still has my M4 with me when login the first time after update.

Pretty much normal.. Can't do anything to be honest..
