Couple of hours yesterday night.
Playing with my 2nd machine, AMD 640 with HD5750 and 4GB ram.
Straightaway had to reduce all the effects and quality coz I was damn laggy with the high GFX.
The motion blur and Field of view really made me pening while playing.
So had to change the FOV to max and reduce the motion blur to almost zero.
I have a feeling unless I lower all details, the game will not be smooth. Currently, its sits between smooth and ugly for me. Still lags a bit.
After 'fixing' the FOV, less pening when playing. 3rd person mode less effect of pening compared to 1st person for me.
This game, when your character move, it shakes A LOT! And I thought BF3 & 4 shakes were bad.
It is definitely an Alpha, still got clipping bugs here and there like being able to open/close the front door of the house when you are upstairs while facing the front door. Also sometimes your toggle for running can be stucked, relogging helps.
Met only 1 person yesterday, he was crawling and dying as I ran past him with Zombies chasing me. You can say he saved my life coz the zombie stopped to attack him instead. Thanks bro, didn't get your name though.
Until now, I have no idea where the hell am I. Still near the coast, near a city with 1 tall chimney. Already check out the apartments there but no loot and only zombies around. Will probably get more food and water, then try to head north to the hills.
Damn zombies can chase you for miles unless run far enough and get behind cover and zig zag a few times. The forest helps a lot. I realise how persistent the zombie was when I ran almost 10 minutes in the open and he was nowhere to be seen. Just resting and looking at my items when I hear him growling again. So had to run again near a building a circle it to lose him.
Overall, very engaging to play, especially if you've never played before. I've only seen videos of the dayz mod but never played before. Hopefully can find some friends to play with.
I'm Skidd Chung in game.
