Hi guys, sorry to change the subject, just a quick question/survey...
I read somewhere that when your car is stationery at the traffic light waiting for green light, changing gear to N (neutral) is an advisable way to preserve longevity of your gearbox/prevent wear and tear. Is everyone here  doing that?  Some quarters said it is not good to do it, as if you are not careful, you end up hurting it more when you don't give it anough time to engage when your lights turn green and you hastily switch it to D,?!

I know my NA gear is 4 speeder AL4 while Turbo is AT6, but from how I understand it, that doing it is advisable for any car (but I have read this sometime back, so not sure it apply for those DSGs too), Any Feedback?

All the while I engage to N at traffic light. Just bcoz I lazy to hold the brake with my right leg  tongue.gif
Those thing u mentioned earlier does make sense also, imagine ur car start accelerate before the gear box catch in the correct gear/ position, might hurt your gear box. It will be great to wait for maybe 0.5 second for the gear to hunt in correct position before release your brake pedal?
Just my comment...

Btw, I like your new avatar!

regarding issue above, conclusion is better not to switch gear to N when your car is stationary waiting at traffic light?

Hi, may I know whats the problem that made u changed the steering rack?
*
sorry that i take a while to respond. the main indication was that whenever i turn the steering wheel left or right whenever not in motion, it makes a really loud whirring sound... Thank God, its running fine now. When that happened we were in Malacca on a holiday. Imagine everyone can hear the sound whenever we turn the steering wheel... so memalukan. At first, Peugeot said they can tow the car to Malacca and I had to go back to KL. We "forced" them to get a tow truck to send us home first and then send the car to the puchong SC. hehe

Just got my car and found out 1 thing. I tried few times and it is there.
Every time when the car stop or at a very very slow speed, and I acc, I will hear "ku-dok" from the front. sad.gif Need to get it fixed by the 1st inspection.

Honestly, i super dislike the SA. Petrol no full tank, tell him to help me get number plate also got problem. Grrr.

nothing can't be fixed it could be a simple screw missing or a defect somewhere

note down what needs attention and get the service center to check one by one biggrin.gif

Don't worry bro, it's normal for Turbo car. The fan is meant to cool down the Turbo engine after u turn off the engine. It will run for few minutes and goes off automatically.
Another tips to protect ur Turbo engine from overheat, try not to push too much the engine when u r almost reaching ur destination.

Ok thanks for your advise, seem like they are more hi-tech, i own the Turbo Car before..and what i know turbine normally cool down by the Water System..same like the engine..bfr i purchase this car..i did take a look on the turbo itself..there is 2 inlet pipe for bearing oiling system and 2 inlet pipe for water cooling system..just freak coz they still cooling the engine after the engine switch off..is good i think..but i scared it will make our car battery die faster.. blush.gif

I tot all Turbo should have this fan for cooling? Not sure...
But it's true that this MIGHT be the reason of draining batt, with Guide Me Home headlight.
I heard a 308 owner complaint before, the fan didn't go off automatically, that made his batt kong.
